I don't hate Kentucky basketball. Most programs do what Calipari does. The elite programs almost all do.

But it's ridiculous to pretend it's not happening. I don't have some issue to try to deal with it. You keep working your workaround.

Well said.

CBB is a dirty business. It's literally impossible to win in this sport, if you're not willing to operate in the grey area.

How are 3 Final Fours, 4 Elite Eights and a Natty delusions? Also, isn't it ironic that an Arky fan would say that other fans are delusional?

Cut back on the acid, dude. Where do you get that I'm a Bama football fan. If anything, I admire the Mizzou football program most.

Never heard that one. Keep em coming Otis.

The delusions were referring to your insistence on your baby butt smooth head coach and his pristine record of ethics.

For being the basketball flagship, you guys really really suck at sailing. You need to learn from your elite brother.

If almost all elite programs "do what Calipari does," then why haven't there been more undefeated seasons? He can't have cornered the market on developing talent or anything like that, can he?

So the HC at a major college basketball program had no knowledge that the 2 best high school players in the country those yrs were receiving illegal benefits? There are what, 13 on scholly now? Repeat, Rose & Camby were the 2 best players in the country & their HC did not know everything that was going on with their recruitment/enrollment? He knew. But like Manzel & O.J. there was no legal proof. Not a matter of hating him at all. What he is is what he is & that is widely known in college basketball circles. That he is a great coach is well known, too. But that was not the OP's question. For the most part I admire UK's fans, as they show a lot of class..as opposed to bama's fans but that's another story. But you need to accept he is what his rep says he is & just continue to enjoy his wins.

There are frequent threads on tRant about the subject.

OTIS is an acronym for "other team in state" that we use for the line beards. You couldn't relate to that, though.

You got any pubic hairs proving otherwise? Turn them in to the NCAA instead of whining on sports boards.

I'm sure Cal had NO IDEA that Derrick Rose had someone else take his ACT for him. The NCAA Clearinghouse initially cleared him, but Memphis was given notice in January of the year after he played there that his grades/scores are under review again...which made it easy for him to bolt, when sanctions were coming.

His connection with World Wide Wes is sketchy, because WWW is a sketchy character, and no one really knows what he does, or his role with recruits and NBA players etc.

At Memphis, he pulled out all the stops to land recruits. Yeah, he was never caught, because he's the best at it, but it was the Wild West.

He doesn't have to pull the same stunts at UK to get his players. UK Basketball, his trophy case and his NBA draft record recruit itself. In College BB recruiting, its a draft, and Cal gets pick 1-4.

Cal hand picks the best players in the country in the dirtiest game for recruiting there is. His programs have gone down wherever he has been.

He definitely doesn't cheat.

Like Dean Smith and Roy Williams knew about the bogus classes that went on for 20 years? Or that Mike Kryzewski knew that Bagette got an $80,000 loan on "future earnings?"

Reputation and character are often confused. Reputation refers to the position someone occupies or the standing that he has in the opinion of others, in respect to attainments, integrity, and the like.

Character is the combination of moral and other traits which make someone the kind of person he actually is, as contrasted with what others think of him.

I'll accept his character, if you don't mind.

Exactly like those. Are you saying Smith, Williams and K didn't know those things?

To our knowledge he hasn't at Kentucky. Or at least hasn't been caught.

I do laugh at the fact that Syracuse, UNC, and Kansas are all involved in major NCAA scandals and Duke and Louisville are dealing with sexual assault scandals, but Calipari and Kentucky and his alleged cheating at Kentucky are what's wrong with college basketball. And apparently exclusive to UK.

The NCAA would love to pop someone like Kentucky to repair their reputation of botching investigations at this point. I'd like to think if it was as rampant at Kentucky as it was at Memphis then we'd know by now. I tend to roll with he doesn't have to at Kentucky since it's pretty well recruits itself with the resources he has available to him.
