I will just leave this here. And guess who is not on the list?

15 Most Unethical Programs in College Football History
Penalties and sanctions are an unfortunate and rather large part of college football. The NCAA has been especially busy over the last few years, as Penn State, Ohio State, North Carolina, USC and Miami have all run into some sort of trouble with in regards to violations.
In light of the recent sanctions handed down at Penn State, Athlon Sports wanted to take a look back at some of the most unethical programs/moments in college football history.
1. Alabama
Mike DuBose took over at Alabama after a successful run by Gene Stallings, but the program recorded only two bowl appearances under his watch. The highlight of DuBose’s tenure was a 10-3 record in 1999 but that year also brought plenty of controversy. Alabama booster Logan Young paid Means’ high school coach to have the top recruit join the Crimson Tide, which brought on an extensive hit from the NCAA. Alabama was banned for two years from postseason play and were forced to reduce 21 scholarships. This incident wasn’t the only one in recent years for the Crimson Tide, as the program was forced to vacate 21 wins from 2005-07 as a result of a textbook scandal.

quote:The difference in the two situations is what you are inferring here. There is no evidence of an illegal grade change in the Paige case. There is nothing illegal about a college coach encouraging a player to transfer to a high school with an easier track for the player to qualify. All you have is vague innuendo, which again, is the difference in these situations. The Paige story is not the story you want it to be, not yet anyway. Who knows? Maybe it will be one day, but there would have to be a lot more there than what's been reported at this point.
We have school administrators claiming that recruits are funneled to a coach with ties to Alabama and the Hoover grade change.
And you don't know that there is no tie to Auburn on the Robinson issue, there are no confirmed reports stating that, nor will there be until the investigation is over. Any writer saying otherwise is lying.
If the counselors were changing the grades for someone completely unrelated to Auburn as the story goes, why was Auburn the only party who received the forged transcript? And if Auburn called about the forged transcript in June, why the hell was the kid practicing in August? These questions are more concrete than anything related to the Paige case and if you can't see that, you're blind.
And even if you're just making the point that both issues warranted an investigation regardless of these differences, surely you can see that the Auburn investigation is at a much more advanced stage at this point than the NCAA asking a couple questions at the kid's high school.

The only trouble is if they deem the guidance counselor a booster, which they very well might
Neither counselor had a connection with Auburn in anyway. The PE teacher did take him to an un official visit. This would not be a violation as it is common for folks to give rides. At Alabama a known booster gave rides, took a recruit to Florida, etc., just before signing day. Not a violation is what my Bama buddies told me at the time.

I just think it's ridiculous. Every great recruit in college football is compensated in some fashion or another.
Why not investigate all top teams if you are going to persecute AU. I know for a fact Julio Jones and company all received brand new cars and more. As did many LSU players, I'm certain.

Didn't know Paige went to Hoover. :mind blown:
I know your shtick on here is naive and dumb, but you can't really be this dumb.

Why would they send his transcripts to other schools?

In the context of the conversation, the question is legitimate even though we all know the answer

Also, wasn't there something about the state of Tennessee having a law against this type of thing?

From the espn article:
Auburn officials submitted a transcript to the NCAA Eligibility Center that was different from the one Notre Dame had for the player.

Again, why would a school that a player did not sign a letter of intent to, receive or want to receive the final transcript of a player that will not be attending their program.

Auburn ratted on themselves to keep from paying Chizik's buyout.
This makes sense, it will make it so much easier to replace him with all the penalties and probation problems...

Also, why would N.Dame send a transcript to the NCAA? That is not the normal process. The high school sends the transcript to the NCAA clearinghouse, it is not provided by the University. I know this was in the article, but it proves nothing. Auburn would never know what was sent to ND.

Man, thats getting old. If its true, then we got the best 180K bargain EVER. However, if we paid any of these other SOB's that are left, we need a fricking refund.
