Though it appears like most threads this one is more about trolling than actual discussion, the real answer is of course several things.

A&M has had 3 SEC Classes so far really. The '13 Class has been discussed but the real key to that class is that the OL and the LB's haven't paid off. The biggest hit was Claiborne who was arguably our best defensive player as a true fish before he decided to become a criminal. The OL busts have created a lack of depth.

The '14 and '15 Classes have been pretty solid but if you are planning on winning the SEC West with 2 Classes and patchwork from before that you are facing an uphill battle. Bama and LSU have 4 classes of Top 5 recruiting, Auburn is right there, Ole Miss has also been very good.

A&M was solid at QB/WR talent wise for the most part to start and has gradually addressed the other areas. DL has gone from a glaring weakness to a strength. The DB's are decent to good. The weakpoint is the LB's, the few good ones we have gotten have had off the field or injury issues for the most part. Still, the A&M D is getting better just going from a complete embarrassment to being average with a couple of real stars.

The OL depth is a concern. The OL isn't terrible but it isn't that great either. The RB situation is just freakish bad luck. Last year we had too many. This year we had Trey Williams go pro when he shouldn't have, Brandon Williams move to defense (where he has done well), James White hurt, and both of our new RB's have injury issues and RS'ing.

You just can't get by in the SEC West with holes, not without a lot of luck. The talent is just too deep. Does coaching and scheme fit in? Sure, but it's not like A&M is terrible. The odds right now favor a 9-3 Season with a winnable Bowl game. That's not good enough but it isn't exactly a disaster.

The better question is what does A&M need to do to get over the line to the upper level of the SEC.

Can't wait to see a true freshman on the road vs a hopefully top ranked LSU

I hope Les let's Cameron hang 40 on Chavis

I'll admit your secondary has performed better than expected. I still don't think you have much depth there, shite gets real in November, so we'll see how it pans out.

Run in down their throats. Over and over and over and over again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again

this could very well be the game that Fournette breaks AB's record. 250 is very doable vs aggy. Their run defense is pure dog shite.

250 wouldn't even win you the game. Points matter not yards.

I can assure you if Leonard goes for 250 then he is also gonna have at least 2-3 scores. I also have no doubt in my mind that LSU will score on TAMU. Your defense is really just a couple of good DE's and then the rest is mediocre at best.

eta and if Fournette goes for 250 then the time of possession is going to heavily favor LSU.

Alabama rushed for 258 yards and only scored 20 offense points.

If Fournette runs for 250, LSU will rush for 350+ as a team.
