I went looking for the thread once but it's been erased. That was epic. It gave a little excitement to the doldrums of the offseason. This part of the year is the worst for me. It's close enough to be exciting but far enough away to be agonizing.

It's Bert threads this year but last year it was Ken dolls.

Auburn could not handle that type of offense, barely won in the last seconds!!!

...because it would be a good game.

That Florida team still had about 75-90% of the previous years team back. I'm guessing what you're saying is the departure of Mullen cause if that team had returned Murphy and Harvin, that would've been one of the most stacked offensive teams of all time.

The only reason Florida "suffered" that year is because of Addazio. That was a hell of a team regardless.

Addazio completely ran that offense to the ground.

Our offense was pathetic that year vs. decent SEC competition.

You hear nothing but great things about Autzen's atmosphere, and it and Tiger Stadium seem to be in a dead heat for loudest according to decibel levels.

Never been to Tiger stadium but would love to go one day.

It's probably a roar...given the size.

Autzen sucks. As a visiting fan - or even as a Duck fan...it's small, but close to the field - but it has this constant ringing around the stadium all game long...like a jet engine in an airplane hanger...it's not a deafening roar...but this ear ringing hiss...constant...nobody sits....it's constant cupped hands over mouth...this annoying hiss and ringing.

If any fanbase is like the SEC...it's Oregon. But if the SEC were going "ahhh-ahhh-ahhh" all game long. They don't quit on the cheering.

But it's not pleasant at all. Worst casual fan gameday experience because the cacophony of sound is piercing...but strangely you can crouch down and it's silent...

Autzen has crazy acoustics. It's ringing to the point of total discomfort.

I've rooted for them on one occasion and rooted against the Ducks on many occasions as a USC fan.

But the Autzen experience was never joyful. High pitched squealing in an airplane hanger for 3 hours...

That's Autzen. They may take pride in that - but it sucks to be in the stands...let alone how the players, in that sunken field designed pit vortex feels it on the field.

Autzen is not a great roar...it's an airplane hanger with a jet taking off...for a couple of hours. Somewhat nauseating.

Oregon puts on a nice show and they have first class amenities. But it's not a great place to watch a football game if you aren't a young student. It's a total student person's game.

Did you come in '07, Zamoro? That place was as loud as I can remember in the USC game.

lol, that UF team was being touted as the greatest team ever.

Link? Whoever was saying that was retarded. The '08 team had Harvin.

To answer the OP, MONEY.

Bama would go in dry on Oregon. Oregon isn't near as physical up front or on the DL to stop Bama. Bama could just stay in the Nickel and matchup just fine.
