I'm assuming the fashion industry, which is the only place you could wear a suit like that and not get laughed out of the building. I understand the fashion aspect of it, but unless you are in the "industry" or are a celebrity, you can't wear shite like that in the real business world.
I work in a hospital and people wear suits like these. People also wear poor-fitting, untailored off-the-rack suits, and they look bad.

Palmer looks way better dressed than most of his colleagues on football broadcasts.

'Fashion':

Bunch of 20-ish yr old dudes on here talking shite about how Palmer's suit makes sense becasue his jacket looks like one that fit him in Jr. High will be all like next year when 'fashion' completely changes and dictates wearing gunny sacks - 'you poors don't get it it, the burlap is supposed to have a few tears in it"
Would you ever wear this to any event that was not a costume party?

Why not? Inevitably, any answer you give (other than 'yes') would force you to admit that fashion is a legitimate concern and that what is fashionable and generally acceptable does, in fact, change with time.

Not everyone needs to be fashion-forward, but a guy like Palmer who appears on TV does.

This thread is hilarious. Palmer's suits look great, my only complaint would be the narrow tapered cuffs and short length of the trousers. The few guys who are defending Palmer are correct in any modern fashion sense. If having good taste was easy everyone would do so. If you think Palmer's suits look strange and don't complain about any other ESPN commentator's crazy arse baggy looks, looking good is either not important to you or it is out of your capability. Kirk Herbstreit looks like a clown most every time I see him.

That said I do think that Jesse has a tendency to over tailor - which is the unfortunate trend at the moment. Jesse could afford to have everything taken out by a quarter of an inch and it would probably be just fine. I do agree with others in the sentiment that he dresses way better than the others on ESPN.

This blogger shares my sentiment that today's fashion is about tailoring extremes - he then gives what a tailored suit should look.

Why does Jesse Palmer wear his suits so tight? Well, I guess the term "business world" or "business professional" may have different meanings to different people. When I say business world, I mean legal, banking, etc..

I work in a biglaw corporate firm in NYC and wear comparable suits without looking out of place. Is that business world enough for you? Again, I don't do the extremely tapered or shortened legs, but my jacket and pants fit me. They are not baggy.

Howie Long is the best example of how a former athelete with that type of build should wear a suit. If you think this is too baggy then you have never had a bespoked suit crafted. His suits are fit perfectly.

His suit fits fine. He needs to get rid of that 3-button though.

You guys realize that you can buy custom tailored suits online for less than $500 right?

I bet a lot of you guys wear "modern fit" shirts as well. You know the kind of button down shirt that is shaped like a box and insanely baggy? It works if you're fat as hell because that's the only kind of shirt that will fit, but if you lift weights and are fit, lol at wearing a shirt that adds 50 lbs to your look.

And some of you wonder why you struggle with women or why your wives don't want to frick you. Well, when you look and dress like shite, women don't really think you're attractive. Threads like these always make me laugh.

One of the best laughs I got on a Thurs nite game was when the crew was on the set for the game and Jesse wasn't with them. A comment was made that Jesse was probably at Guccis shopping.

BTW I worked at Gucci's Fifth Ave store back in the late 1960s during a summer gig....and Im not a clothes horse (actually borderline slob these days).....our biggest cliente were women who had upwards of 500 pair of shoes in their closets and were truly addicted to Guccis.

Hey hey now I'm a Bammer and I'm laughing at them too.

Oh and at Howie Long being used as an example for how a person should dress.

Maybe if you're 50.
