I don't know, Bama looks fricking jacked when our game arrives.

They look different out there to me.

Alabama plays tight against LSU. Saban coaches tight against LSU. Zero creativity. Zero risk.

I prefer it when they play free and loose like they do against Tennessee.

There might be something to that. Not to take anything away from Bama. But at times it feels like they have a mental block that keeps them from succeeding. 2012 and 2014 are games they absolutely let slip away because of boneheaded decisions and penalties

Not sure I agree with this Terry, Alabama puts a ton of stake in this one as evidenced by the play on the field.
I'm talking about everything from the fans, the administration, the coaching staffs, etc. You don't hear stories about Bama coaches talking about beating LSU at booster events and such. It's been that way since Charlie Mac couldn't get over the hump against Bama when LSU had really good teams.

Like I posted earlier, I wonder if we kind of psych ourselves out of this game sometimes.

Tons of pressure on the kids. But then again you are playing football at LSU, a lot pressure to win already.

Like the players feel its a ONE GAME season.

I think I agree! But against LSUs offense there's no reason to take risks. Hopefully that will change

Which one was that 3 or 4 in a reaux? We love winning your Super Bowl, no doubt.

LSU tries to run a pro-style offense against the only man in college who eats them for breakfast. That's doing half the work for them. As for intensity, I don't think it's been that intense for the past couple of years to be honest although Saban being an ex-coach of yours is always going to provide a backdrop to motivate both teams.

A lot of it stems from the "swag" LSU fancies they play with. The team (defense) sees that on twitter and hears about it through the media and if you poke the bear enough he's going to eat your face. They usually play angry, but against LSU recently they've also played with something to prove because LSU players can't help but to run their mouths before the Bama game.

That may not help Alabama once the game kicks off, but I think it gets in the LSU players heads when they realize all that chirping was false bravado, and I think it helps Alabama focus throughout the week on being perfect in practice. My two cents as a lifelong observer and former competitor.

Because defending LSU's offense is cake to them.

Sums up that game pretty well. Game was tied in the 3rd. LSU had their best offense in years, and Bama scored 21 straight to stay undefeated. Sorry we weren't sorry.

Besides something said last year I don't recall a lot if shite talk by us.

Both sides are always civil during game week.

When else have we talked shite?

I actually halfway disagree. Defensively, we play well. Offensively, we're usually INCREDIBLY tight (especially in Baton Rouge) and usually play one of our worst games of the year. A good bit of that credit goes to LSU's defense and intensity. But we usually play very poorly offensively in that game. The Bama defense is generally lights out against the style of offense LSU tends to play in general, though.

Usually Alabama is coming off a bye week after 8 straight weeks of ganes. They get rested up. Now, if you want to ask if Alabama purposefully schedules their bye week before LSU, I'm not sure. Its a pretty good spot to have one before that last stretch of the season.

Part of it is them being really hyped up.

Part is just a bad matchup. LSU has run a pro style smash mouth offense based on just beating the guy across the ball and nothing else. Bama has so many big linemen and LBs You can just expect to beat gen without scheming.
