Nah, they asked for me to pull out the big guns by criticizing my point of view.

Why do people who never ran for office criticize politicians?
Why do people who never cook criticize meals?
Why do people who never work in administration criticize organizations?
Why do people without kids ever criticize how people parent?
Why do people who have never done drugs criticize those who do?

One does not disqualify the other.

The point of this thread was lost. I never played basketball but I get that jj is a bad coach but if you told me to explain what exactly isn't working from a technical standpoint I couldn't tell you. I only know he doesn't win enough. The people who are like me hut still try to explain why he sucks are the ones that piss me off.

That's not because you haven't played. It's because you don't know the game.

So you have studied every sport that you watch and know the game? You could tell me by glancing at the floor what defense a basketball team is running or if they run a flex offense or if they are running a motion offense? I can't so I don't try to just giving an exanple.

I haven't studied everything, but I do know quite a bit about defense in basketball. I know less about offense, but I can watch and tell when something isn't working. Maybe offer a few suggestions on how to fix it. However, I grew up playing basketball, so that may not be the best example.

I've never played hockey, but I can watch a team and determine what they are trying to do. I don't know what the names of the offense or defense, but I know who is supposed to be where and I can tell when someone isn't doing their job.

It's OK to not know enough to criticize, and good on you for knowing that you don't know enough. You can be a fan that just knows you have to score more than the other team and there's nothing wrong with that. However, it's not because you haven't played the sport. You just haven't put forth the effort to learn.

Personally I know I don't know a lot about the actual game of football, so I don't pretend to.

Most of my criticism has to do with things that I am familiar with- business, marketing and PR.

This is close to the dumbest statement I've ever read on this board.

One does not disqualify the other.

I'll add one:

Why are athletic directors hired to criticize and analyze the coaching performance of ~15 different sports and make decisions that actually affect them?
