You don't have to pay too much attention to notice that

we can all agree this has nothing to do with Saturday night
i would not agree with that. recent trends may not be definitive but, they are meaningful. hence the reason why i mentioned that particular number of games back.

What about the LSU trend of losing 2/3 to ranked opponents though?

Uhm yeah, no. Evenly split at best.

More LSU fans are hopeful, Bama fans are (for the most part) certain.

seems deceptive given that lsu has beaten fla in gainesville who apparently isn't all that bad, an improved ky team and a solid ole miss team. again, lsu seems to be trending up and is a different team from when those 2 losses were played. bama seems to be trending the other way. of course, lsu could continue to improve and still lose sat. who knows.

in bama's favor
lsu pounded by 2 best teams on schedule
bama brings it in tiger stadium

in lsu's favor
bama lost to 3 of last 4 ranked teams played
bama struggling a little on the road
lsu steadily improving in last 3 games
saturday night in tiger stadium is tough, even for bama
senior night

Not even going to make a prediciton on the outcome, at best it's a coin flip. The LOS match up, TO's and ST's will be what wins the game. Win 2 out of 3, and you should be the victor.

Things I DO like are these fact:

ALA played A&M in a easy blow out win with a few injuries (CR being the biggest) the last game they played. I'm thinking giving them a false sense of security and over confidence...JMO.

LSU played an extremely hard fought very physical grinder game against a formidable opponent, and had a come back win without significant injury...Thinking that it gives them an understanding they can win as the dog, can feed off the loud home crowd and will out a victory. Again, JMO.

Here is to a great injury free Saturday Night in Death Valley, should be a great game.

not sure about this but, i do think bama has more riding on this game and thus more pressure. i think as the game goes on and mistakes are made on both sides, this is going to weigh on the tide more than lsu. plus, lsu knows they can come back if behind in the 4th. in addition to senior night, it just seems like the intangibles are favoring lsu. i have no idea if that equals a win though. the offense was sloppy against ole miss.

Of course I want LSU to win, but I keep getting this feeling of deja vu ala 1/09/12. Although these are 2 very different teams, except for LSU's offense. Miles is dug in with Jennings, and I don't see him pulling him barring injury, or a 28 point deficit.

Keys for LSU

1. Stop Cooper (at least contain him)
2. Win turnover battle
3. Rattle Simms
4. Jennings has to have his best game to date

Key for Bama

1. Keep LSU rushing attack below 150 yards.

Is this LSU's last home game? Or is that Thanksgiving against A&M?

Yes. Next two are on the road (Arky and A&M).

this seems absolutely on the money. on paper at least, this is exactly what must happen.

provided special teams are a wash:
lsu has to limit the tide yardage between the tackles. with kiffin spreading the o a little more than usual, this will be interesting for the tide.

jennings has to make some throws to keep the chains moving. the potential is there but, it hasn't happened consistently. inconsistent probably won't cut it against the tide.

one of the 2 teams will be better in the red zone and that will probably make the difference. turnovers will obviously contribute to this

Did you watch the Arkansas UGA game the week before?
I did, but the point is that Arkansas is capable of playing toe-to-toe with anybody. LSU will lose to them in 2 weeks...watch it happen.

I'm beginning to like you 32... such a homer... look up runningtiger, you guys must be twins. Yes 59-0 vs 7-41 makes Bama look good. Except you haven't played Aub and LSU hasn't played TAM.

Look up the teams both Bama and LSU have played and it tells a different story.

The truth is that all this doesn't matter for Saturday night. I will not be surprised either way, but I think you will as well as runningtiger. Your twin.

Because it's Alabama, they never lose only they don't execute/beat themselves/unmotivated.

The only decent team they played was Ole Miss and they got beat.

WV is a good team as well but you're point about competition is well taken. 'Bama is very good IMO, however you could make the case they have not defeated anyone as good as OM or Wisconsin, LSU's two best victories.
