I do believe that Devonta SHOULD win the Heisman because he’s the best player in football this year, but probably won’t just because he’s a wide receiver. The award is supposed to go to the best player in college football, but doesn’t usually go that way.

Is this the same Trask that is 0-1 vs. Kellen Mond?

i like how you think Trask was the reason for losing to aTm.

K. Trask
23-32, 312 YDS, 4 TD vs aTm

To be honest it the argument should be Pitts vs Smith. Those two are freaks at their positions. Mac and Kyle as great of stats each are putting up neither is flashy.

It would be cool if Pitt won, because I’ve never seen a tight end win the award

Smith should be the Heisman leader.

Mac has produced in a dual role.

Mac is an all star QB, but he really separates himself with his holding of placekicks.

Think of all the PATs and FGs which really should be equally attributed to Mac, instead they just lump those points on the kicker.

Both quarterbacks are great. Trask has more touchdown passes however Jones leads all other stats including qb rating. Because Alabama has a better running attack, Jones generally hands off inside the 20 yard line where as Trask throws the ball. If Jones threw the ball inside the 20, he would have just as many touchdown passes. Also because Bama has been so dominant in games, Jones hardly plays in the second half of games. Either way, I believe the Heisman will be decided next week when they meet in the SEC Championship game.

Jones may be the best QB to see the field in the SEC Championship game and that comes from a Gator.

Oh, did I mention I was talking about Emory Jones?

Smith is most outstanding player in CFB and should win.

Mac and Trask are both great underdog stories having extraordinary years. Some is coaching/scheme, some is surrounding talent, but most is a workman effort, tenacity, and team first attitude for each. Not butt hurt if either were to win, except for the injustice it would be for Smith who is all of the above and more. Would be a first rounder and instead of opting out, he is committed to the team and is returning punts and trying to expand his role wherever he can.

DeVonta plays with a good not elite John Metchie and a Slade Bolden along side him and has a replaceable game manager throwing him the ball. And he's still the best WR in the country.

I think Elijah Moore has had a better year than Smith.

Mac jones himself has only been sacked 8 times. Young may have been sacked more to get to that number.
That's because Mac is taken out in the early 4th quarter in most games (only played 4th qtr in 5 games) and Bryce Young plays. Trask has played every 4th quarter in all 9 of his games, padding his stats.

Mac doesn't pad his stats. Mac also has more yards (12.2)
per attempt than Trask, 10.1; Mac has a greater completion percentage - 75.7%, than Trask - 71.4%; and Mac has a higher quarterback rating - 210.83, than Trask - 193.11.

Disagree. Moore has 6 more catches, but less total yds, less yds per catch and half the TDs.

It is also a credit to his pocket presence and awareness, which are superb and horribly underrated part of his skillset. He also complements a strong OL pass block with elite decision making and ability to quickly read the defense a deliver the ball to the best place or get rid of it.

He makes very few poor decisions this year as a starter.

Also Smith has played and extra game over Moore and there are more weapons on Smith's team for other teams to account for. Moore has been doubled all year.

Our bias noted, but it is true. No one has been able to cover DeVonta in 4 yrs. Now, with Waddle out, he is the clear #1 and homerun threat and teams still can't stop it.

Smith trails by 4 yds and is getting 2 fewer receptions per game than Elijah Moore. Smith accounts for 39% of Bama receptions compared to Moore's 45%

Um passes on ~41% of plays compared to about 45% for Bama, but Smith is also typically not playing a full game whereas Moore would be. That likely accts for the extra 2 receptions per game.

The 15 TD receptions jump off the page though for Smith through 9 games, especially looking at what Harris and the Bama rushing attack has done on the ground to swoop in and steal TDs.

Both are great and a vote for Moore is absolutely valid. But, just knowing and seeing Bama benefit from Kiffin, I can't help but wonder how much of Moore's success is tied to scheme vs head to head ability.

Personally, I feel Smith would be Ole Miss #1 if he were on the team with Moore.

aka the model of a perfect offense was LSU last year. Good RB, elite QB, 3 elite WRs, good line, and good offensive coaching
