So we really gonna call one OL elite and the other trash over 2 sacks?

No one was on Joe’s level it wasn’t even close. If you watch LSU did not have the best O line in the country. It was Joe’s pocket awareness that saved him multiple times. Same with Mac sometimes I guess.
And Clyde was not the best RB in the nation like Harris is today. Clyde was definitely top 7 I would say however. And I will go back to my first point no one was on Joes level so you couldn’t really argue anyone else. Trask and Mac are almost identical. That’s why I use those factors in my op to push Trask out in front.

Great points you are one of few Bama fans to do so.

To be fair about it, Trask probably averages an extra 8-10 minutes of playing time and an extra 2 or 3 possessions per game.

I like them both, they are both great QBs in a tough tough league. Let's see how they perform under pressure, head-to-head.

And I'd love to see Devonta Smith get much more consideration than he does, but QBs tend to get all the glory these days. It would tickle me to see three Bama players invited to the Heisman awards show.

Apparently. It's the same argument people are applying to the respective skill position groups. Top to bottom they're really pretty similar in quality with Waddle out, but people push the notion that Alabama's is better and therefore Florida's is mediocre. That's not actually the case even if you do think Alabama's is better because Florida's is objectively very good, but it doesn't stop people from thinking that way. It's just how stupid people view comparisons. If A is better than B then A must be great and B must be bad.

Why are you using sacks as support? Florida's OL has given up 10 total sacks (not sure how many were of Trask) and he's dropped back like 70 more times. Their actual sack rate is probably about equal if not slanted toward favoring Trask.

Besides the real purpose behind these type of threads from LSU fans is the idea of Alabama having A heisman winning QB with an undefeated season and NC with an all sec schedule and no sisters of the poor on their schedule surpasses in your mind what LSU did last season. That’s the truth behind these threads.

Bama's OL has given up 14 sacks, 6 of them happen to be when Young was in the game. Florida's has given up 10.

Never said Alabama was an elite o line and Florida wasn’t. Alabama’s o line as a whole I would take over Florida’s just in general. I would assume you would do the same as well.

Maybe mac makes Haris, Smith look better with his play. The kid is really good a fast decision making. Better than tua. His deep ball is the best Bama has ever had. Also he knows the offense and defense plays so he understands where to go and when to go there. Plus last but not least he speaks Chinese.lol, Who ever wins the sec cg will win it .

Trask not getting sacked is because he has an incredible ability to avoid pressure. Bama Oline gives a cleaner pocket without question. I would bet the pressure stat would show the difference but no clue where to find it.

SEC StatCat Pressure Rate

Trask Pressure Rate - 25.2%
Jones Pressure Rate - 22.8%

Trask Sack Rate - 3.11%
Jones Sack Rate - 3.15%

So Trask is pressured on basically 1 more pass a game than Mac is and sacked equally per dropbacks. The entire argument is just kind of bunk.

You most certainly did not watch the UGA or Ole Miss games. Or probably any Bama games that closely

Mac vs. UGA 24/32 417 yds 75.0% 4-TDs 1-INT 90 LONG
Kyle vs UGA 30/43 474 yds 69.8% 4-TDs 1-INT 50 LONG

Mac vs. Ole 28/32 417 yds 87.5% 2-TDs 0-INT 45 LONG
Kyle vs Ole 30/42 416 yds 71.4% 6-TDS 0-INT 71 LONG

Kyle has a lot of weapons to throw to including the best TE in the nation but Mac has DEVONTA SMITH that is always 3 to 5 yard behind the deepest man. To be honest it the argument should be Pitts vs Smith. Those two are freaks at their positions. Mac and Kyle as great of stats each are putting up neither is flashy.

Mac did his work against A fully healthy UGA defense. Trask faced Diet UGA defense

I'm fine if Mac wins the heisman over Trask. Dude has played perfect given his situation and what has been asked of him. He's been amazing.

I just think Trask has as well, but he's consistently under more pressure/responsibility and has less help than Mac each week.

If Florida beats Bama, Trask wins it. If not, he has 2 losses and Mac Jones should be the winner.

Simple as that.

Thanks for the stats! So in Bama’s 2 Four-quarter fights, Mac was 52 of 64 for 834 yards 6 tds and 1 int that wasn’t his fault. Yep clearly Bama wins those games with average QB play. Like you said, both QBs are absolutely fantastic and deserve the praise you are getting.

Agreed. Wish Pitts didn’t miss any games
