Why did Kevin Steele leave LSU for AU?

Was it just $$$?
Did Steele see something we all only hypothesize as true in regards to LSU declining?
Seems like if the money was fairly even, a DC would only make a lateral jump if he sensed one team was in better shape than the other?

Or.. he was told he wasn't gonna have a job.. and that he should find a coach that probably can't even spell defense to hire him

I think it's more along the line of Les telling Steele "hey you're not very good at coaching defense and I made a mistake. You need to start sending out your resume."

better question is why is all of Auburn trying to get suspended for the LSU game?

I never got too much into the hiring saga that LSU and AU went through so it was an honest question. I remember when he came to AU, all the LSU posters making threads saying "Thanks for taking him" and stuff acting like they were happy. Deflection?
