You haven't proven shite once. You have given your theories. I have given links to actual facts.

I enjoy the history of this era, but this discussion inevitably leans towards mythology and propaganda. And any southern state calling another out is down right ridiculous.

I'd pull up a little, man. Your best coach ever has recently made remarks laced with racial and misogynistic undertones.

The facts are that Alabama integrated in 1970, with five other SEC schools yet to follow. It is also true that Alabama had Wilbur Jackson on the roster is 1970, clearly before USC won that game. You continue to use mythology and false information.

Why did it take A&M so long to integrate women as students?

It doesn't need to.

Found this neat quote from Bryant:

quote:

I don't have black players. I don't have white players. I only have football players."”

Now we're splitting hairs. You clearly stated that Alabama was near last in signing a black player. Which they were not.

We were an all-male military school.

In '63, our President, Earl Rudder, recognized that TAMU would never progress as an institution unless we admitted women. Shortly thereafter, we lifted the requirement of mandatory corps of cadets participation (for the same reason).

WRONG!

Wilbur Jackson was recruited to play football at Alabama in 1969. He arrived in Tuscaloosa as a freshman in 1970. Since freshmen at that time were required to sit out a year, he wouldn't dress out at the games but he would practice with the team during the week.

Because all students were mandated to participate in military training/the Corps of Cadets.
You can research women & the military.

"The Bear could do whatever the frick he wanted in that state."
--------------------------------------------------

That statement is totally full of shite. George Wallace ran the state and everybody knew it. As popular as he was, Coach Bryant wasn't about to butt heads with Wallace. You can book that!

Wallace was probably one of the most powerful governors in the history of the United States.

Wallace in his prime > Bryant in his prime.
