Why you "should of" paid attention in school.

For the second time, cite your textbook.

You won't though, because you know you're full of shite.

How about I cite Rogers Redding himself, you frick?

quote:

an obvious intent to impede a defender

quote:

According to NCAA rules, the crossing receiver cannot purposely impede the progress of the defensive player. In both the NFL and NCAA, blocking more than a yard downfield prior to a pass being thrown is considered pass interference.

The difficulty for officials is determining whether contact with a defensive player was intentional or not.

It's a moot point, though, because like I said - we got our arse whipped.

Explain how you can run a route when the DB drags you down and tackles you

While Bama lost to a more complete team which is what happened to Clemson last year. The rules in this game or rather how they are called definitely benefits the offenses. I think the fact it is Big 12 officials just exacerbated it. Holds are being called offensive pass interference not being called and holding not being called. I would like the game to go back to what it used to be IMO.

Saying pick confuses the issue, especially on the first one. People will say the back DB didn't get touched, but that doesn't matter. A rrceiver can't block down field before the pass is thrown, which is exactly what the TE did on that play, went straight at the DB and blocked him 4 yards before the ball was thrown. That's offensive PI regardless. Second one is more gray area. The wr is definitely blocking, but the DB also is engaging

Seriously, this is why the reaction is what it is from the rest of the SEC. We bitch about calls when we play bama, and we are crybabies. Nobody feels sorry for bama when it happens to you.

This guy gets it. The second was clearly not illegal because once the DB put his arms around the receiver there was no way they were getting called on the pick play. Had he tried to avoid the contact or let the guy run him over he would have a case but engaging in that situation was actually not a bad plan except for the consequences it had on the OTHER DB.

I really think he was just looking for whichever receiver came free. The first TD it was obvious, this play wasn't.

I assume you realize that the NCAA, NFL, etc intend for that to be the case.
