You my friend are an idiot if you think Florida is the best team in the country. Come back later when you grow up.

Why Bama gets a pass, but not Florida? Because Florida is most inept team in conference. Yeah great defense but my nephew junior high team has better offensive system. Florida should be 4 loss team. Thats beauty of East its EASY!!!

I love irony - Its funny to see a Bama fan say that UF not winning the division is a reason to not get in.

If Notre Dame loses to USC then Florida definately deserves a shot regardless of conference championship. If it works out that way for them as it did Bama, then fine. If not, better luck next time. I think most of us Gumps can agree with this.

Didn't you guys just squeak by a nobody? Go back to last year. Alabama was DOMINANT during the regular season, save one game. Hence, the "eye test."

Florida has not been dominant. Florida's probably more in K-State's league--"just winning." Which matters, but it doesn't jump off the page, either.

If ND goes down, they deserve consideration. Alabama did not jump and undefeated team last year.

That is assuming they get past FSU.

Or are you saying a 1-loss florida team should go to the exclusion of a 1-loss SEC champion?

The BCS is about the picking the best two teams. Clearly Alabama was the best team. #2, in retrospect, is probably up for debate.

This topic is getting very old fast, and why is it always LSU fans starting them?

It really doesn't matter anyway, because FSU stomps the shite out of UF soon.

After last year's NC, when every sports personality in America gave up being against non-conference champions playing for a national title, why is it not the same story this year for Florida? Now that we've set a precedent for "best two teams" instead of "most deserving teams", shouldn't Florida be up there if they finish 11-1? The winner of the SEC title game will be at best 2-1 against the top 10... Florida will be 4-1.

Everyone knows Notre Dame's schedule hasn't quite shaped out to be that tough, and if you're going to penalize Florida for a poor showing against ULL, why not the same for Notre Dame? Based on who they've played and beaten, ignoring "style points" and the "eye test", Florida is the best team in the country. I know it would never happen, but one could honestly argue an 11-1 Florida team is not only "more deserving", but the team that would have accomplished more this season than either team winning the SEC title, thus should get a spot in the NC ahead of them.

I can't see how Bama getting a rematch last year without beating anyone of significance during the regular season, they wouldn't be the highest ranked SEC team right now if they had Florida's schedule and resume, but lost the division in a tiebreaker. That being said, should ND lose to USC, Florida should without a doubt be in the title game if they win this weekend. Anything but that only gives validation to the oft-complained Alabama/Saban bias. Thoughts?

*added paragraphs, apologies*

In 2011 Alabama at 11-1 was the best team in America.

In 2012 Florida at 11-1 is the 5th best team in the SEC.

If ND goes down and Florida does beat FL State then FL will be in Miami. I don't see Oregon jumping Florida especially if Florida puts a major arse whipping on State.

Nope. Oregon will get the bid. By virtue of winning the Pac 12 Championship game, they will jump Florida (as they should).

Couple reasons why it isn't the same with Florida.

1) last year LSU and Bama housed everyone. There was no game where it was close except against each other.

2) Florida is not as good now as they were early in the season. Your QB is shaken up you've struggled against Mizzou and ULL recently.

I agree Florida is a good team and they deserve to be in the discussion, but they don't have the same arguement this year that Bama would've had last year. This year there isn't a clear best team(s). If you look at the BCS top 10, they would all be good games against each other. Last year it was LSU/Bama and then everyone else.

This will all get settled soon...ND beats USC and we beat the girls school...Bama you better know who you will face in the BCS title game for all the marbles. Ore-gone is shite out of luck my elephant friend... I think Bama skeered of us. Sure we have worts...but I watched somne of your so so games too and it aint that pretty.

Our defense can beat you Bama....you know it, I know it and they know it. Just grab your ankles and dont move too much or it might just hurt some.
Matt Elam will make your wrs his biatches and take their lunch money. You better make sure you beat the dawgs first though.

This.

Also, Alabama better be rooting for ND this weekend for exactly this reason. I'd much rather face them than the ducks.

We can't help it that LSU being in the game caused ratings to plummet.

LSU was in the three highest rated college football games last season, not you (at Bama, vs. Ark, SECCG).

And, FTR, the BCSCG rated lower than Miami-Nebraska (please note the similarity.

Oklahoma State was NOT the only team screwed by Bama being put in the Natty.

LSU was the other one. The message sent to college football teams and their fans was this:

It doesn't matter if you go undefeated playing away from home against Oregon, West Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia. (Two of whom won their conference; the third at least played for their conference title) We're going to make you play one of those teams again, rewarding them for losing and punishing you for taking on the toughest schedule in modern college football history.

It doesn't matter if you win an extra game on your schedule and have more wins than any one else in the nation.

It doesn't matter what the criteria for determining the BCSCG matchup was in the past when two teams with same record vie for the other spot even though we know fans don't like it when a non-conference champion is put in the game (hence the bad ratings).

Beating a team on the road with two weeks to prepare isn't as impressive as beating a team at a neutral site with 6 weeks to prepare.

Losing on the road to a lesser team on a short week is worse than losing at home after a bye week.

The system is going to reward teams that lose the most important game on their schedule if we like that team better than another one because, well, they've won more historically.

And, yes, Ranters, we LSU fans are pissed about this and will be for awhile. Since some of our fans create and maintain this board, suck it up. We'll bitch about it whenever we want to.

Hold on friend, I picked Gators to win east - I was believer and still hope you win out and finish ranked high. My post was just an answer to question, I am pretty sure that Bama has not been a dog all year. For some reason, no matter who UF beats, there still are doubters.
