What about this are you not understanding? Because we cheer against you when you play Bama? Duh. We were also cheering against you at other times (in recent years) because you were normally ranked fairly high - as was Bama. That is what fans do, they cheer against other teams that are ranked at or higher than you. Just like cheering against Florida at times, or Ohio State, etc.
Outside of that, I really don't care if LSU wins or loses. Actually I've kinda always like them - maybe that is because they are not AU and Tenn.

I've been around Bama fans since 2004. Not message boards, IRL. I was offering my observation of 13+ years of hundreds of Bama fan's anticipation of this game over the years.
I literally never think about it except for this week when I read this board or talk to my Bama family.

it is a joke that this game "must be played." Honestly except for an occasional game or two it hasn't meant squat on the national stage since the early 1970's. Because of this abomination of a "rivalry" the rest of the SEC is held hostage to this nonsense in terms of scheduling.
If this game is "so special" play it as a non-conference game.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've never considered LSU to be Bama's biggest rival and I never will. Auburn is in state, so that will always be more heated.
