I'm not ready 9 pages so sorry if already posted....
In short (LOL) Saban....and LSU plays bama every year and if we don't beat them, it's likely LSU isn't going to the SEC Championship.

Answer is complex and simple at same time:
1) Saban hired at Bama in Jan 2007
2) Bama wins title in 2009
3) 1/9/2012 - if not for this game LSU's 2011 team may be considered best of BCS era (which many feel Bama shldnt have been in, but I don't care. LSU still shld have shown up. Bama proved to be the better team as much as I hate it).
Beyond those obvious three, Bama and LSU go head to head in recruiting, Bama has taken some kids from LA that wouldn't be at Bama if not for Saban, and the games between the two matter.
LSU and Bama are easily the two best teams in sec since Saban arrived at Bama. LSU fans obsessed with Bama ( and vice versa) because outside of fluke years like AU had in 2010 & 2013 Bama and LSU are only real threats to the other.
