Their family lives in BR. Went to the Alabama game with them in 2010, had the time of my life

I agree. Could you imagine OSU , Oregon , Oklahoma , Texas or A&M fans after as much success as Bama has had? Bama fans have actually handled the success quite well with the expected exceptions.

No doubt. So many ups and downs. I sat in the corner end zone in a little bleacher thing. I was the only Alabama fan in it and the LSU fans were great. At halftime two older ladies said "son, you've been a treat, we're gonna go buy you a beer." They didn't realize SEC schools don't sell beer at their stadiums But the gesture was noted. It was a blast.

Why are LSU fans so obsessed with Bama on here?

1. Look at the record between Bama and LSU. Alabama leads 48-25-5.

2. Bear Bryant owned them in the 60's and 70's, including 11 straight wins 1971-1981. Coach Bryant's record against LSU while the Bama coach, 18-4.

3. After Bryant's death, the series evened up some. But then came the 90's. From 1989-1999, Bama led the series 9-2.

4. Then, Bam! LSU got Coach Saban and Bama got crippling probation. LSU lead the series during their Saban era 4-1, with Franchoine being the only coach to win for Bama in 2002.

5. Les Miles continued the trend beating Alabama his first 3 years, making it the first time, combined with Saban's last 2, to beat Alabama 5x in a row. The 1st time LSU had beaten Alabama more than twice in a row during the whole series.

6. 2007, one of LSU's greatest coaches that had lead them to their 2nd national championship, came back from the NFL and went to Alabama. A LSU fan's worse nightmare.

7. After Saban's 1st year, which he lost to LSU, the series again started to go in Alabama's favor. Right now it's 5-3 Bama. Plus Saban lead Alabama to 3 National Championships and 2 SEC championships.

Plus the worst hurt of all for the LSU fandom was the 2011 season ending. After beating Bama at BD, they thought they would have a perfect National Championship season. They were unbeaten, the #1 team in the nation, and had won the SEC Championship. But Bama was picked to play them in the BCS Champ game.

One of their greatest seasons ended in a loss to Bama in their backyard, New Orleans, on a national stage where they lost 21-0. The first and only time a team was shutout in the BCS national championship game.

8. Now Saban is going into Louisiana and recruiting some of the top high school football players from the state that he had locked down when he was the LSU coach.

There's no denying that LSU fans are obsessed with Bama. It's not even debateable at this point.
