Do you see the other shite on this board? I'm sorry I can't help but see this as a setup for other LSU fans to troll.

Yeah. This board sucks.

I'm being sincere.

Don't contribute to the disaster that the SEC Rant has become. It is an incredible article and the mental part that Cochran brings is worth marveling at. Of course, it all goes back to Saban.

Anyway, I was trying to legitimately compliment Alabama.

Wish we would have kept him.

To do what? He was never more than a grad assistant at LSU. And would be no more than an assistant strength coach at LSU under Moffitt right now.

He was at LSU with Saban. And later the Hornets.

Why is Alabama so strong?

The answer probably is aligned with:

Why is Saban so much more dominant at Alabama than he was was at either MS2 or LSIxU?

Our players and organization does the work that's required to win championships.

Pretty simple, really.

Cochran and the S&C staff are phenomenal. I'm glad we've been able to keep him this long.

To be the S&C coach. I wish we had him instead of Moffitt.

I get that the timing would not have worked out. But, I'd rather Cochran at this point.

Saban had immediate credibility when he came into Alabama BECAUSE of the success he had at LSU. He came in, tamed the beast, and took over and told everyone to sit down and shut up. And, he learned a lot from his NFL stint too. He kept improving and keeps improving.

Saban would have the same success at any MAJOR school with resources and recruiting potential. He has made Alabama, not the other way around.

If you don't understand that Alabama's success is because Saban is a force of nature as think it is because Alabama is just great on its own, you are just laughable. Alabama has a great heritage and tradition and invested in winning. No doubt. But, Saban has made it what it is. There is really no other way to see it.

Yep. One of the best I've seen in a while on how college football works and what brings success. You get this stuff from Forbes and Men's Health and never from ESPN or sports journalists who have no idea what they are doing anymore.

Great article.

Of course Saban was an improved HC when he came to Bama. The success that he had at earlier stops made him an attractive candidate to coach at Bama.

Negative. The Saban-Bama partnership was equally beneficial to both. There are maybe three other programs that Saban could have gone to that could possibly have the same results Bama has had...but it's highly unlikely that they would have the same success.

Saban has contributed greatly, no doubt. But Bama has had periods in the past of having great success, rivaled at that time by only ND and Oklahoma. Saban saw an opportunity at Bama that could make him a legend.

Sorry, but LSxU and about 120 other programs don't have the cachet that Bama has, and Saban recognized that.

Saban is successful because of his insight as to what makes the best NFL player. He was with the Oilers, the Giants and the Cleveland Browns(DC) before he went to Toledo, then MSU and then LSU he also had a stint as a pro head coach. He knows what he is looking at.

The key here is the pro experience and the length of time as a coach in the pros. Same for Pete Carroll before he went to USC. What other coaches in the SEC or for that matter in the P5 have that type of experience insight ....the only one I can think of is Jim Mora, Jr.

LSU people...did Tom Herman have any pro experience? What about Jimbo Fisher? Nope. Probably should have gone after a pro DC with 6-7 years of experience.

Retard strength is a real thing. Name another state where there are more inbred retards than Bama. You can't.

I think that had Saban stayed in BR, we would be talking about LSU's dominance....probably at least three more titles.Definitely titles in 2006 and 2007 Personally think that the 2 years with the Dolphins was an over the top education.

He was always known as a hands on recruiter. He knows talent

This is bullshite. Every team has big, fast strong players. Bama just has more of them. They can bring in a 2nd string that is big and strong. Many other teams have a more significant drop off past the starters.
