Everyone knows the answer to the OPs question is steroids. Watch how much bigger Bama will be on the LOS than anyone else in the bowl games and ask yourself how that's possible without steroids.

Shouldn't it be ...

When Saban hangs it up there will indeed be a significant drop in Alabama football. I believe Alabama will still be a good program, but nowhere close to what they are now.

Yeah but it's a given Bama will still win NCs even after Nick The Great retires.

Nearly every assistant who has left has tried to coax Cochran away. That should tell you something.

There will be chances to win national championships but they will be few and far between. Nick Saban is Alabama football. If you think it's the other way around you'll need medication when he retires.

Lost among all the rest of the info was the 30 second single leg test used to determine susceptibility to soft tissue injury. I wonder how Bama compares in injury prevention to other schools.

Nick Saban is a great coach, but he isn't the only one who could win big at Bama. He isn't the first to win big and will not be the last.

There are a handful of coaches who would win big and Bama will have a healthy program with unlimited resources to attract one.

Alabama currently has great decision makers running the whole university system it's why the university has prospered despite the state slashing higher education spending.

While other universities have clowns running the circus. I think Alabama is past the point where they are hiring DL coaches like Dubose.

I can't disagree...because when you talk about Alabama football now and comparable dynasties, you're talking the NY Yankees, UCLA basketball, and the Boston Celtics. The greatest dynasties always drop off...but the great organizations, like the Yankees, do what they have to do to get back on top. History shows that Alabama will too.

It's a widely known fact that Saban made attempts to get back to LSU after his gig didn't work out at Miami. As has been said in this thread already, "that ship had sailed" with LSU's early success under Miles. So, that somewhat blows the theory that ONLY Alabama would suffice for Saban - Saban actually wanted back at LSU because of multiple reasons - athletes in state, fan support and admin support - maybe not to the maniacal level of Alabama but certainly top tier.

Your still not going to bring in the next Nick Saban at Alabama in our lifetime. I don't care who's running the university.

LSU fans have lost the capacity to be embarrassed. There has to be a certain freedom in that, I guess.

Nick Saban is not even in the discussion of greatest of all time if he doesn't end up at Bama.

He would have had some success elsewhere, but to think he would be on the verge of 5 national championships in 8 years is not realistic anywhere else.

So LSU made Nick Saban, but Saban is Alabama football. using that logic you think prior to 2000 LSU was a historically great program, and Bama was just a middle of the road program?

You mean you don't think that Alabama will win 50+% of the NCs and be in the CFP every year forever?
