I think Washington’s coach was a good hire

I was surprised (and relieved) they didn't ask Kiffin. He would have made the most sense. But I'm not dogging DeBoer. He could work out great. Just bigger risk.

Kirby Kiffin, Dabo, Belichick, Sark, Urban

Guys with actual experience in D1 P5 football with track records longer than 5 year(Deboering has no track record, no history) that would be expected to take over for an Alabama program that believed it could get anyone it wanted.

Certainly happy to have him at bama bc I don’t think he will recruit Louisiana very well

This! So this…. Saban had the inroads to so many high schools in the state and rightfully so. Deboer?

And now, with Brian Kelly putting up a stiff fence around the state, a lot of our agonies in this department are going to end. Year in and you’re out, Saban had Louisiana players littered on his championship teams, and now those days will be no more.

Norvell or Kiffin would’ve given me cause for concern.

Who should Bama have hired?

Lanning.

Thankfully, that didn't happen.

Kiffin or Cristobal were the only ones who would've stopped the roster bleeding who might have been available. If things continue Bama will be begging for Kiffin in a few years.

That's not how it works, goober. People don't get 'offers'. The only person, ever, who gets an offer, is the one who is hired.

See, they all have the same agent.

Yer dumb as a rock, 'mensa boy'.

The hire makes complete sense to me; not sure why everyone thinks it's a bad hire.

No matter who got hired, there is a great chance they are a sacrificial lamb.

I actually feel bad for Deboer and only hope he got a low buyout so he has an escape hatch.

Well you tell us. Byrne was meeting with Coach DaBoer in a hotel [in Washington] on the Wednesday after the announcement was made public.

Byrne stated the entire process took 45 hours, instead of 45 days for your head coaching search.

Looks like a machine at work to me, regardless of all the noise being created.

Honestly I don't think there was any sure win in Bama's situation. Following Saban is a tough spot.
