"average head coaches" don't post 10 and 11-win seasons at Ole Miss

Lanning or Sark. Probably Kiffin over DeBoer.

Even Glenn Schumann IMO would have been better and honestly scarier for the SEC especially with Saban hovering around. Saban could have mentored him for a while and Schumann would have had no issues getting a top OC to come.

Schumann, Lanning, or promote Robinson. Should’ve kept it under the Saban tree.

With an awful record against ranked teams. A train load of baggage and a whisker away from self implosion.

He's like 6-8 vs ranked teams at Ole Miss, that's playing vs an SEC schedule vs a lot of teams with more talent.

5 of those 8 losses are to Georgia/Alabama.

That isn't exactly "awful."

Again,

Including those who turned you down?

Or just out of the ones who didn't?

Come on, Gladys. Answer.

There is absolutely no one who would take the job that could save your program from collapse. DeBooer is just a stop gap until Bama brass can stop the bleeding

Kirby obviously, but that's a no go. Who should Bama have hired?

The best coaches were no goes. Alabama got the best available that might have gone to Alabama. Pay no attention to trolls.
No matter who is hired it is always a crap shoot. At one time the following coaches were thought to be at the top of the game:

Charlie Strong
Tom Herman
Chip Kelly
Will Muschamp
Dabo Swinney
Charlie Weiss
Clay Helton

And the list could go and on. Trouble is schools have to find the right culture fit, personality and best recruiter/game planner and then hope everything clicks. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. There is no lead pipe cinch way to tell if a coach will hit or miss.

Average head coaches don’t take Washington to the national championship

I think Drinkwitz or James Franklin would have been better hires too…

By this logic, average coaches don't take TCU to the national championship either, except one did.

DeBoer is a good hire because he's won everywhere he's been, not because of 2023.

We got who we needed, outside of Kirby who else would of created so much melt for the Barn and LSU.

A combined 0-5 against DeBoer with more talent.

Well said sir. Sark wasn't coming. Kirby wasn't. So let's be realistic here.

Kiffin was an option, but he did leave us hanging the week of a national title game and it cost us. For that and some other reasons rumored he was likely out.

The man we got was as good or better than any realistically available. End of story.

You laugh now, but TCU made a Natty too last year, where were they this year? By your logic you should just go hire Sonny Dykes.

This will end badly in three years.
Sark or Kiffin could have kept the machine going.
