I'm sure he will get better because Mullen is a quarterback whisperer, but I'm not totally sold on the greatness of Fitzgerald. He ran up the score on some TERRIBLE defenses and was at best average against the few good ones he played.

I think there are a BUNCH of SEC players that had similar stat splits last year due to so many gawd awful defenses in the league.

I agree. He got pulled against LSU and the backup nearly won them the game. But he was still very young last year. He will definitely show improvement this year but it looks like his OL is very inexperienced.

He was extremely raw and had no real passing experience. I'll be curious how much better he gets as a passer. Much like Hurts, he could take off and be really good, or we could find out he just isn't very good at passing no matter how much film and practice he has.
