Is that his MO. I still think AU sticks with the run and leads the league.

So you expect Sean White and Franklin to both get a ton of yards this year?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Franklin still have 200-300 rushing yards out of wildcat formations or WR sweeps.

And White only had 163 yards last year, and AU still lead the league in rushing yards per game

And does bringing back the top five returning rushers matter when one of them runs for 130 yards?

What are you talking about? We had 7 guys rush for more than 130 yards last year, and 6 of them are back.

And yes, obviously returning yards and experience matters. Maybe one of them only has 130 yards, but when there's 6 other guys with more yards... it all adds up.

Having many options to carry the ball is a great thing. Less wear and tear on the top guy. We aren't running anybody into the dirt and ruining them like Georgia is.

ETA:
Btw, we return 9 guys that rushed for at least 1 TD last year. And yes, that matters.

White and Franklin were both top five for carries.

Yeah that's what I said. But White wasn't top 5 in actual yards.

White chocolate Dack running over all you bitches.

On a serious note our ground game should be much better this year.

I'm saying having the top 5 guys back isn't a big deal when they only have 100+ yards. And considering two of them won't see much playing time it's even less of a deal. Having your top two who carried the load is a huge deal though.

And you may want to rethink which program runs backs into the ground since Pettway averaged 23 carries last year while Chubb averaged 17 and Sony averaged 12.

Yes is is. Pettway and Kerryon has over 2100 yards and 18 TD.

Chubb had more carries than Pettway last year.

And only 1 of the 2 is a hobbled shell of his former self. Once considered a 1st round lock, but now will be lucky to go day 2.

LSU will have the SEC's leading rusher.

Barring injury I could see Derrius Guice hitting 1,800 yards easily.

I love the way that dude runs the ball. However, this thread is for best overall running offense so I'll go Auburn.

Pettway could as well

He rushed for 1224 in 9 games last year.
That's 136 ypg. In 13 games that would be 1768.

BUT he also wasn't close to 100% the last 2 games. So through the 7 games where he was fully healthy he averaged 158 ypg. That would be 1896 just in a 12 game regular season. Or 2054 in 13 games. But since we know Auburn will play 15 games, that would but him at 2370 yards.
That would put Pettway at #5 all-time and set the SEC single season record

Bama will be 2 or 3 in rushing, but also 2 or 3 in passing, net result has Bama 1 in total offense. This is not silly over top crimson colored glasses, it's simply fact that Bama has best overall potential on offense in Saban era courtesy talent and depth, and most important best player at QB with a year under his belt and vastly improved passing to go along with legs. You have no idea what it will be like to alternate Bo with Joshua, the epitome of change ups. Jacobs is the forgotten ace because of public perception due to fact he was only a 3 star. I predict Jacobs will be the SEC offensive player of year if not Hurts again.

I keep hearing that the "new" QB is better than Eason.

I look at Eason and see Elway , Marino, Jim Kelly. I hear the other guy is very mobile.

Surely you're smart enough to figure out that Chubb played 4 more games because AU ran Pettway into the ground

You hear that because he's a Georgia boy that hunts and fishes and a certain part of the fanbase wants him to start.

State will be in the mix with Fitz and Williams returning. Both guys likely go a 1,000 this year

Alabama finished second in the SEC in rushing behind Auburn last year and returns its top five rushers from that season. I'm guessing whoever it is it will be between those two teams.

Auburn should have an easier time running the ball this year with a legit QB like Stidham running an RPO based power run offense. Not sure we have as many yards this year, but I think our YPC will go way up.
