My take on Leonard is this, he has an elite blend of size and speed (many have). He is deadly when he gets to the second level though. The guys fast enough to get him aren't big enough to tackle him, and the guys big enough to tackle him aren't fast enough to get him.
The kicker, however, and what I think will hurt him in the nfl...when the designed hole isn't opened up, Leonard struggles. He puts his head down and plows ahead for anything he can get. Other backs, Henry included, are able to find a cutback lane or get skinny through a hole that's barely opened or kick it outside without even thinking about it.
Those gaping holes won't be there in the nfl. I watched a good breakdown film of him against Alabama and Leonard missed some wide open holes, because they weren't the holes that the play was designed to be ran through. He is not a quick or natural improviser at the first level. His size and explosiveness have afforded him the ability that he really hasn't had to be up to this point, and when he has he's failed to produce.
In essence, I don't see anything out of Leonard Fournette that I didn't see out of Trent Richardson. A fast and physical monster that is going to make you pay in the second and third level, but the vision is not there. Like it or not, the vision is not there with Leonard. I think he's a good kid and would love to eat crow and have him excel at the next level, but he's got Latavius Murray written all over him. A great athlete that is a serviceable running back

Fournette because he is a better runner and more explosive. I have doubts about Fournette being great, but what has Henry done in the NFL besides sit the bench. I know Murray is playing in front of him but if he was headed for greatness he would steal a carry or series away from Murray.

Good point.

I think Fournette has a few flaws. Needs better vision and needs to quit seeking out contact.

Was thinking TR while reading your first 3 paragraphs. But, imo, LF's work ethic will be better. I hate to say it but I feel like TR got paid and TR quit putting in the hard work after that.

You should atleast wait til the draft before asking this.
I don't think he's going to the Browns with Crowell, but who knows! We've all seen the Browns do some really dumb shite throughout the years

He had over 1100 carries and 130 receptions in 3 seasons in the USFL. That is a lot of tread off the tires before he took an NFL snap.

USFL was a shite league. Sorry, but I think it has no bearing here. Just me maybe.

shite league or not, the hits still add up. Two years he had over 400 carries.

Don't go bringing logic into the conversation

Herschel helped Dallas win a few SBs.

The arrogance of LSU fans that still exists, even after watching an NFL style defense at Bama shut down Fournette year after year, is astounding.
It's fine to believe Fournette will have a better NFL career than Henry, he very well could, but to act like it is certain that he will be some legendary back just because he played at LSU is just sad.

I will try to keep that in mind going forward.
While it certainly wasn't the talent pool possessed by the NFL, 770 out of 1536 players that were on a USFL roster had or went onto have NFL experience. Those guys were out there knocking the piss out each other so they could keep getting a check.

The stupidity of bama fans that watched those games and don't have the football-smarts to realize that the LSU O-line was exposed (not Leonard Fournette) in those games, is beyond astounding.
He only had around 30 yards two years in a row and is still in the top 5-15 of any mock draft that I have seen.Do you think every GM and scouting department in the NFL watched those games and couldn't see why he got stuffed on damn near every play? Are you really that stupid (don't answer-water is wet-fire is hot-and you're a gump)?

Well I would say that LSU and Alabama usually both have great defenses and Henry performed against LSU and LF failed two years straight. LF has his work cut out for him in the NFL if he wants to last very long. Every defense he face will be better that Bama but so will his offensive line so there is that. It will interesting to watch. He can't sit out every time he doesn't feel good in the NFL.
