Off topic, but I spent many a summer afternoon at East Side swimming pool.

We definitely stomped the same ground. Some great memories. Those weren't the nicest facilities but we still had a blast.

Nice read. It's amazing how sports can become so intertwined in lives. For some it's not "just a game". It truly is a release for a lot of the bullshite going on outside of that sport

True. We hear all the negative stories when the sport is intertwined in a bad way. There's definitely another side to that coin.

That is awesome, Mr. Salsa!

I learned the game from my dad. I was the youngest child, and the only girl, so he didn't always know what to do with me. So, he taught me how to fish, and to shoot, and love Cardinals baseball and college football. (And made sure I did girly things too, like piano lessons, church choir, cheerleading and learning how to cook! ) He was a Razorback fan first and foremost, but loved the game and liked other teams too. As he got older, and less active, we still bonded over college football. We would call each other after big games, and analyze together.

He would be so excited about Mizzou going to the SECCG game for the 2nd year in a row. God, I wish I could still talk to him about it.
