You're cherrypicking and just hating. I know your MO. You can't deny Toby had a premium oline and qb and had less yards.

Those receiving yards do not make up for the fact that TG had 10 more touchdowns on the year. And seeing as how they're RB's, you'd think him outrushing him would play a role. And heisman voters don't care about SEC defense over PAC12. Classic example being Woodson over Manning. Ingram got the nod because he played for Bama and they were about to win the chip.

And an additional 10 pages of NtYers and ITAT'ers flocking like a pack of wolves because someone disagrees.

This. Gino Torreta. He got exposed in the Sugar.

Yeah, that's the problem of hying a guy on a great team. He may well be a great player himself...or he might simply not be hosing it up. Gino was definitely option B.

This nobody named Felix Jones fricked McFadden's Heisman.

DMac: 284 att 1647 yards 14 td 5.80 ypc 117.6 ypg

Jones: 154 att 1168 yards 6 td's 7.58 ypc 83.4 ypg

If Felix wasn't so damn good, DMac would have possibly gotten 2K yards or damn damn close and 20+ TD's and ran away with the Heisman.

Running was a big part of his game in college that was never going to get much love in the pros.

Smith ran for 228 total yards (3.8ypc) and 1 TD in 2006.

Ingram, whom I like as a player and obviously a person, is probably the most overrated Heisman winner in my lifetime.

Well, seeing as you're making up facts, I guess they don't need to. Ingram had 20 TD's on the year.

I'm sorry. Thought we were discussing the Heisman.. you know. the best football player. Not the Doak Walker.. the best running back.

They didn't last year either, seeing as they gave the Heisman to a QB, who got his numbers, having faced over half his schedule against defenses ranked BELOW 102nd and worse.

Hate on brotha. Let the tears flow, like they did in Jan.

Seems like Ingram was splitting carries with arguably the second best back in the nation. Who was Gerhart splitting carries with?

Honestly I think he would have.

Yea Alabama is a well known Heisman pipeline influenced by media bias.

Exactly. Factor in ypc. Toby had 5.45 ypc.. not too shabby. But not exactly Ingrams 6.12 ypc either. And as folks loved to point out that year and since, Bama was a running team first, so he was zeroed in on and still did better.

I didn't even realize it was that low. To be fair, he didn't have to run that much.

It was obvious he wasn't going to be a big time pro, but prior to the Florida game, he did come up big whenever it was needed.

Who is rating him so highly? It was a very weak Heisman class where no one really stood out. The national title and production in big games against SEC defenses broke the tie, and rightfully so.

It's not like he is some marginal talent who put up college numbers in a system like Eric Crouch, Jason White, or Troy Smith. He was a first rounder and the first HB taken in the draft.

Ingram isn't nearly on the same level as Crouch as far as overrated Heisman winners go.
