A coach at Arkansas should be graded on a curb? Are you saying Arkansas is closer to Mississippi State in status than it is to Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, etc. so that should be taken into consideration?

Why do you just assume he is talking about Bert? I agree with is point but more in regards to Mullen.

Dan Mullen. He's done wonders at a historically dogshit FB program.

I still try to give him the benefit of the doubt

I guess I'd say it shakes out like this: TOP TIER: Saban 2nd TIER: Sumlin, Malzahn, Freeze, McElwain 3rd TIER: Jones, Mullen, Bielema 4th TIER: Stoops, Mason

why'd you even ask the fricking question if you wanted to decide the answer yourself?

Nah

They can stand in the middle of the street if they want.

Curious to see other's thoughts. No one in rant history has ever asked the board a question in which they had opinions about?

You Arkansas fans are a sensitive bunch.

purely so you can disagree and give your expert analysis/criticism.

fyi- i would probably have to say sumlin, i mean if i was actually responding to the thread if it was created by someone who wasn't a twat.

Bert is in Year 4 and is yet to even take his team to a Top 25 finish. He's also one more loss from being knocked out of the rankings this year. I'd say until a coach can finish in the Top 25, he's not eligible to even be considered.

This. Bilema is terrible.

The rant swears he's turning it around though. 8-19 SEC record speaks for itself.

I think Sumlin is a good choice.

I almost decided not to include Bert and just leave him out along with Mason and Stoops, but I figured the insecure piggies would take that as a threat.

Glad I chose to include his stats. Gives us all something to laugh at now.

The SEC is falling behind the Big 10 in the head coaching department.

Lots of meh outside of Saban.

Who is the first? Remember, the meaning of coach is to help someone improve at a sport, skill or school subject. So, in reality, the best coach is the one who can take the least experienced (talented) people and show marked improvement based upon their starting levels. So who would be the first?

I'm sure you did. It was an embarrassing loss. It showed us Dawgs how it must feel everyday to be an Arkansas fan.

As you well know, its not fun.

Don't know how Bert can be above Sumlin considering he is 0-4 against Sumlin and hasn't finished in the Top 25.

Sumlin is a grand canyon step down from Saban but he has some legit accomplishments. He's got a solid record against Top 25 teams. He has at least beaten Bama once. He hasn't finished worse than 8-5 and has won 4/5 Bowl games and has lost only one OOC game in 5 years. He's sucked against LSU and he hasn't won the West but only Malzahn can say that at this point and the '13 season still seems more of a fluke.

Mc has done well at UF but playing in the East helps a ton, he's been the tallest midget there. No other East coach has much to crow about.

Freeze has an argument. Mullen is a good coach but doesn't have much to show for it.

With no Miles or Richt the coaches not named Saban haven't truly settled though.
