The Tennessee logos are cool looking from a graphics perspective, but the baby shite orange moves all of them down the list.

Like Col Reb, gator and the razorback. Never liked the gamecock logo.

Those three are the best.
AU is the best "lettering logo" which are inherently not as good as actual picture logos.
The problem with Carolina's chicken is that from far away, it's hard to distinguish. It's too complex. If it was just a chicken-head it'd be better. Like Louisville's Cardinal with teef.

This is one of those 2-way images...once you see it as him looking down at the rifle like "WTF?" With his hat coming off, it's hard to see it the other way.

They're better from an iconic "branding" standpoint. Something kids can draw by heart. Easily recognizable to everyone.
But certainly they can be less interesting/fun than the more complex logos.

It depends. As much as I hate to say it, Texas has the best logo in college sports. Simple outline, completely unique.
Ours is similar to that, only slightly more complex. Kids can draw it easily, it is unique and translates to single-color, silhouette. Picture logos get crappy when they require 2-3 colors. I've never liked the red/white/black alternate version of our logo that is sometimes used on merchandise. White hog, Cardinal background is classic.

Of these I like Bama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Miss St., UGA, and Vandy. Gotta say I like UGA and Ole Miss the best.
