So the wareaglereader did some digging on this, and though Mizzou was the first of the now-P5 tigers to use it, they weren't the first to use it overall. We all just started stealing it from each other

Don't feel like digging up the article tho

I've already seen the article and Mizzou didn't start using it till 1962

Auburn 1957
LSU 1955

Occidental was the first as the artist drew it up for them in the 1930's. Another guy took his rendering and sold it throughout the country. So yes, everyone copied from Oxy

I saw where Princeton used it as well. I thought Clemson did too, but couldn't find any evidence of that.

You are probably right. It was used by many colleges since its inception in the 1930's. Occidental college in L.A. was the first.

A couple pages back a Mizzou fan linked the article by Warblogle, but here is the other article it used for the blog.

Oxy

It's crazy, right?

Missouri and Louisiana State named their mascots after actual men/units that fought for their respective states in a war that shaped this nation.

That's a cool story and all, but it's still a deflection on your part.

I hate to say it, but LSU's toonces is probably the worst. The tiger eye is awesome though. I like Auburn's the best.

Really? This is all common knowledge. Is there an alternative universe that you Aubbies live inside? Maybe those trees are magical?

Mizzou and LSU are legit Tigers.

Alabama A&M.. are you tigers or eagles?

UUhhhhmmmm.....Alabama A&M is located in my hometown of Huntsville, AL and they are the Bulldogs. Also, A&M is in the SWAC.

They do, however, have a better logo than UGA or MS State.
