Who has been most hated during their time at the top...Spurrier or Saban?

Man.. I hated Spurrier at Florida. So I understand the reasoning behind anyone that hates Saban at Bama.
In ways I could see how those that are older would say Spurrier... cause he really loved to run up the score and rub your face in it.
But Saban has been more consistent in winning, so that definitely would bother others more...

Most of these folks only remember the Gamecock Spurrier. No one hates that Spurrier.
But yea, as a Bama fan, he was hard to stomach in the 90's.

Yea Saban is more of the mercy knee type coach.

Grew up a uf fan until my senior year of h.s. in 98. It was abundantly obvious at sec media days even Spurrier was jelly of saban. I'm honestly hoping saban gives s.o.s. a shout out from the trophy stand this year.

I don't hate either.
I hated that Spurrier's visor did not say "Tigers" and I hate that Saban is at Bama, but they both are living legends.
I don't like Meyer.

I seriously don't know if you Gumps are delusional enough to actually think people don't like Saban because he's successful. Does that somehow feed your egos? People don't like him because he's a weird, little Hitler count who is rude as hell to reporters. It's that simple.

That's a bit overstated. But it is well known that Saban wears on his assistant coaches too. He doesn't treat people well on a pretty basic level and that's why nobody likes him personally. I have no issue w his success except for the fact he coaches bama now.

Oh you are talking about the a-hole that would never pull the starters and still gunning for the endzone with a minute left in the game, already up by 35.....Yea, I hated tOBC

I'm sure you felt that way about him when he was at LSU, too. "Man, I can't stand Saban. Weird little guy is rude to all those poor reporters. I just wish he didn't have our team winning at a clip not seen since the 50's so we could fire him."

Darth Visor without a doubt. Bama has beat us lately, but not dominated like those Florida teams.

I don't hate either of them. I respect the hell out of them as coaching greats. I love college football and they raised the level of play conference wise and in that sense, they are good for all of the teams in the conference. Saban will always be a part of LSU and there will always be some LSU in Saban. Spurrier could have been, but LSU botched it.

This is so true. When Spurrier was on top, he was one of the biggest douchebags in history. When he went to South Carolina, he didn't win anything. He upset some big teams (including mine), but he didn't win consistently enough to be hated, so his jabs and insults were funnier to people, and his whiny persona didn't bother us.

Was talking to a friend of my brother's, who interview at Mich State when Saban was there. One of the other coaches told him, "If you really love coaching, don't come here".
