Just a light hearted gig at Bama, I would be happy with the 13 or 14 that are not disputed.

I swear. One faulty claim in 1941, and it becomes "claim it like Alabama does". Never mind Alabama doesn't claim 1945 or 1966, when they probably should.

Which is why that information director was a fricking idiot.

Alabama didn't have a team in 1918 or 1943.

Or 1898...

In fact, only 2 SEC teams have no years on record where they fielded no team.

Between them, there is 1 National Championship and 0 SEC Championships....any guesses on the 2 teams?

Bama had a great team in '45 but lets not kid ourselves. Army would have probably pounded sand in your behind that year. That isn't an insult to Alabama, the Army team was just that good.

A shame the two teams didn't play each other, but what can you do?

Maybe we should be looking at average wins per season instead of total wins.
How about winning percentage? (Includes Alabama's forfeited and vacated wins.)

Most programs didn't field a team during World War I or World War II. For instance, Alabama didn't have a team in 1918 or 1943.

UGA, LSU were among the SEC schools that had teams during WWII. We fielded a depleted team in '42 and got demolished by UGA with most of its players, a game that still pisses off older Gators.

And the Gators are 9-0 against Arky in that short time period.

Arkansas probably, Florida will pass Arkansas and A&M in wins relatively shortly.

Florida is like New money. They were basically like Mississippi schools until after the 80s. Their first SEC championship wasn't until 1991, if that puts things in perspective.

This, basically since 1990 Florida has been at worst 1A to Bama's 1B in the SEC, give Mcelwain a few years and Florida will be back.

And the National Championship in 1984, according to some publications, I have seen the trophy at Benn Hill.
Hell, we should count them both, Bama would.
9 SEC championships puts us ahead of Auburn and 4 national Championship moves us way up the list.

Hell by some Bama standard we can claim 1995 - you can lose your bowl and still claim the title.

How many of the vacated ones do you count? I know theres got to be a least a few, we all know how Bama likes to count things they didn't earn.

850 is the number AFTER vacates and crap. It's 879 straight up.

I hate to side with Florida, but they've played 78 fewer games than Arky.

Total wins was never a bragging point anyway. In all my time here, I haven't heard one person brag about total wins... except westcoastag earlier in this thread.

Must of never seen SEC Crazy. He would say Bama is better historically than LSU in basketball, since they have more wins. He also said they were 2nd in baseball(most wins, consided to LSU due to CWS titles.)

Georgia should forfeit the rest of their season in honor of Coach Richt.
