His stats were awesome, but go ahead and troll away
Herschel's weren't. Their APY were dead even. Herschel had like 100 less yards rushing on 20something less carries. Herschel had triple the amount of receiving yards and over 100something return yards to Rogers' 0. In the bowl game Herschel ran for 150 and 2 TDs in the national title game, Rogers ran for like 100 in the gator bowl.
Also, Herschel won the head to head meeting with better stats and UGA won (when Rogers fumbled the game away at the end), UGA went undefeated and won the national title.
The trophy is supposed to go to "the best player in college football", and anyone outside of SC fans knows who that was in 1980.

I actually have to agree with the Georgia fan on this. The only reason why Herschel Walker didn't win the Heisman in 1980 is because he was a true freshman.

Man for a guy and a team who say USC is their 5th/6th rival, y'all still like talking about USC and our players a lot.
They both had good stats, Rogers earned the Heisman, y'all were one of the 5 teams with some type of claim to the National Championship...everybody win, everybody happy!

I'm not the one that brought up the heisman that year, someone else did. Then a SC fan said the other guy was mad and Rogers had good stats. I was simply putting up a defense of Herschel.

We were unbeaten and untied, and beat the #2 team in the Sugar Bowl. We are the national champs.

Does any other SEC school have at least half that many? Like 4 maybe?
Auburn has had 34 RBs taken in the draft; Alabama has had 31.
Auburn has had 6 taken in the 1st round; Alabama has had 6.

I say:
1. Steve Van Buren
2. Kevin Faulk
3. Charles Alexander

This begs the question, why isn't Alabama called "Running Back U"?

Mark Ingram doesn't belong on that list. If all things equal, I'd take Coffe over MI. But it's your list for your team so ill allow it.

TRich is the most talented rb since AP. Ih MIngram had not been at Bama, TRich would own a bunch of Bama and SEC records ,iMO. Dude was a beast as a freshman

Glen Coffee was a good back but the guy was running behind (possibly) the best offensive line Alabama had seen up to that point in time. While Ingram ran behind a solid line in '09, more than half of his yards that season came AFTER contact. Ingram's time with the Saints has greatly distorted what he accomplished in 2009. His one bad game was against an Auburn team that completely SOLD OUT to stop Ingram and force McElroy to beat them. And this wasn't the Auburn team of 2011 and 2012. They had quite a bit of talent on both sides of the ball in 2009.
