1914 Auburn Tigers are in my opinion the biggest travesty in CFB heres why:

They finished as SIAA Champions with a record of eight wins, zero losses and one tie (8–0–1 overall, 5–0–1 in the SIAA) and outscored opponents 193–0. Yes, that is 193-0.

September 26 Marion Military Institute* Drake Field • Auburn, AL W 39–0

October 3 at Florida Jacksonville, FL (Rivalry) W 20–0

October 10 Clemson Drake Field • Auburn, AL W 28–0

October 17 West Alabama A. C.* Drake Field • Auburn, AL W 60–0

October 24 Mississippi A&M Rickwood Field • Birmingham, AL W 19–0

November 7 at Georgia Tech Grant Field • Atlanta, GA W 14–0

November 14 Vanderbilt Rickwood Field • Birmingham, AL W 6–0

November 21 at Georgia Piedmont Park • Atlanta, GA (Deep South's Oldest Rivalry) T 0–0

November 25 vs. Carlisle* Piedmont Park • Atlanta, GA W 7–0

Not only did they finish undefeated but they gave up zero points for the entire season. They didn't receive a major title or much notoriety for it, is it the biggest travesty in college football history?

What are some teams that were deserving but never won a title?

The State of Alabama needs more hobbies. When you are concerned about your team being robbed over 100+ years ago and several of the teams they beat no longer exist as schools it's time to find more hobbies man.

Bama claims the 1941 title when they were 3rd in the SEC with 16 other teams in the country having a better overall record but I cant gripe about a perfect season in 1914?

8-1-1, ranked #16 in the final AP poll. Not even the outright SEC champ. And your loss was a shutout by Duquesne

Sorry, I don't think so.

Like teams that lost in the championship game yet entered as no. 1 or teams with similar/better records than the ultimately adjudicated consensus national champion?

I would have liked to have seen Auburn vs Ohio State in 2010. Pryor vs Cam would have been fun to see.

I left Auburn off because there were 3 undefeated P5 teams.

I've been saying for years that Auburn fans are terrible for ignoring the 1913 and 1914 championships, which were two of the greatest teams of that era. At one point only Army, Auburn, and A&M showed such disrespect to their pre poll era champions.

Now, I believe it is only Auburn.
