quote:Bama has the 1964 AP/UPI title and the 1965 AP title.
We have 4 legit natty's that have an unquestionable claim. 1909, 1964, 1965, and 1977.
What's so funny is that the Hogs squealed so much about Bama winning the AP in 64, because they didn't count bowl wins. So the AP decided to change and count the bowls. Then Arkie lost their bowl and Bama won theirs in 65. So Bama again beat Arkie for the AP NC; two years in a row.
Arkansas was awared the 65 title by the Montgomery Full Season Championship. Is that something like Auburn's People's NC?

No, they awarded the NC before the bowl games so its completely legit.

How do you win titles from the 60's in the 80's?
Southern Cal added a NC from 1933 in 2004.

Careful now, - the word "Mississippi" does not appear anywhere on this page:
Well it does in this one
and lets just agree to disagree this was before the BCS and therefore many teams claimed national champions but since the BCS ERA I'll admit we've done nothing ... but don't tell me ours aren't really it's like saying Narnia doesn't exist ... c'mon

Ah...
The title claims of several schools are way worse than Alabama's claims.
Michigan, claims 11 but only 2 are AP/UPI
Tennessee claims 6 but only 2 are AP/UPI
Pittsburgh claims 9 but only 2 are AP/UPI

Georgia also claims their 1942 Rose Bowl win even though they lost to Auburn and Ohio State won the AP.
So, UGA fans, Bama's Rose Bowl wins are legit NC's, right?

Seems Bama fans are the only ones who get defensive over claimed and awarded MNCs, guilty conscious perhaps?

Besides, Bama has enough legit, whether your only count the polls or your don't. I'm happy either way.

And their 1967 claim is even worse than Bama's 1941.

And UGA didn't claim 1942 until almost 50 years later.
