How do you win titles from the 60's in the 80's?

He was being facetious about the SIG change in the the mid 80's, referring to the additions stemming from 1925-1941 I think.

Vols under Neyland were back to back National Champs by 13 different polls (all but 3, including AP) in 1950, but AP and UPI in 1951.

Your threads are amazing. I'm going to put them in a children's book and read them to my daughter.

If SC can claim their baseball 'ships, Ga ought to be able to claim their gymnastics ones. What was it, 6 in a row?

There are several that we should claim. Bama and A&M are taking arbitrary claims to a whole new level. We might as well jump on too.

Welcome to my party! For at least 2 years now I've been encouraging hog fans to take full claim of our lineage. We have 4 legit natty's that have an unquestionable claim. 1909, 1964, 1965, and 1977.

Kentucky 1948-49, almost 96-98 for a triple. Basketball counts, right?

Careful now, - the word "Mississippi" does not appear anywhere on this page:

Okay, the gloves are off:

LSU Ladies Track and Field (Outdoor)

87 through 97, inclusive
(Non-consecutives 00, 03, 08, 12)
(ETA: That's 15 out of 26)

LSU Ladies Track and Field (Indoor)

93 through 97, inclusive
02 through 04, inclusive
(Non-consecutives 87, 89, and 91)
(ETA: That's 11 out of 20)

A 7-3 LSU team beat unbeaten Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl.

You're welcome, Alabama.

Hey - they started it - setting aside Bama's claim "by birthright" of every championship they see, we have Ole Miss claiming completely phantom championships (1959? We beat them, Cannon won the Heisman and Syracuse was undefeated), SC talking about baseball, and UGA wants to talk gymnastics.

When the derp gets that high, all one can do is turn up the herp.

Did you miss it was in response to the UGA fan with women's gymnastics? LSU baseball did it in 96-97, but South Carolina's recent run is super impressive.

Already had the 60's. Just went back and added the Rose Bowl National Gridiron titles. Now, 1941, he could have left off.
