Since so much weight is given by the OP to conference championships...how about a good starting point would be when those conference championship games started. Current, after grandpa, and takes everything into consideration.

I bet we won't do that though, huh?

Sorry we arent talking about the championships your grandparents celebrated.

During my life time I've seen Alabama win 3 National Titles. Two of those undefeated seasons. During the same time I've seen LSU win two National Titles. 0 of which were undefeated seasons.

Not sure what you're getting at. Ican see why 2000 is the cutoff point. Its a round number.. It represents the current century. It is a prety large sample size, being it is the last 11 years.

"The current century" is kind of meaningless though when talking about college football. The BCS era would be a little better. Since integration would be a lot better but that happened over many years. 1936 when the AP first released a poll is the only other cutoff I can think of that isn't totally bullshite.

No because it's idiotic. In the first half of the time period stated by the OP Bama was in the shitter.

Which is why the OP picked that time period. In his mind it gives LSU a chance against the better schools. Lets try a more recent time span and say last 10 years. Now how does the answer look. It would still be Bama or Florida.

He's extremely butthurt and jealous

I have been known to flame a little bit, but I honestly keep it real...and call it like it is. This kid/guy/girl just posts stupid stuff that is not accurate nor frankly just plain ignorant. When you stack up the accomplishments, there is only a debate between LSU and Florida, and LSU has the edge there in several major accomplishments. There are some very butthurt/jealous arkansas fans over the success of LSU, and shreveport is definitely one of them. IMO he/she loses any credibility at all when making completely ignorant posts....flaming or not.

Just curious but what makes an undefeated NC so much better? Do you get a better trophy for being undefeated? IMO the 2011 Bama NC team would beat the 2009 Bama NC team.

So Florida has better numbers than LSU's since 2000?

No. Forget the fact LSU owns the head to head but my three 5 loss seasons in a row are nothing short of the kiss of death.

Well all that's really doing is throwing out 2000 which doesn't help Bama much although they were 3-8 that year.

If you are referring to football only, then I'd give the nod to LSU.

If you are including basketball and baseball alongside football, it has to be Florida.

Unless LSU holds UA to 0 points, doesn't allow them to cross the 50 but once, and it is during a NC game...not a single shite will be given.

It must be bothersome to know that short of a 100-0 blowout, the shame of 1/9 will not wash away..

Let's forget the facts that in that same timeframe ALabama had to forfeit or vacant 30 (yes..Thirty) games becuase they failed to play by the same rules as the teams they compete against.

Facts are facts, no team in the history of the NCAA, including SMU have received as much punishment as Bama.
