So measure your dicks all you want. I went to school for free and parlayed that into a great graduate program and career. Enjoy your student loan debt to a school that looks like a shitty sci-fi movie set located in fricking College Station.
You can be proud of that all you want, but why aren't we allowed to be proud of our academic reputation and the opportunities it opens? I mean I know plenty of Aggies that parleyed their Aggie degree in to nothing. I know a few Ole Miss grads that did that as well. Same on the opposite end of the spectrum for both. That doesn't mean I don't think A&M is an excellent academic institution and provides certain opportunities that Ole Miss doesn't. Also A&M is a really great bang for the buck. Not sure what Ole Miss costs, but my tuition wasn't a lot at all.

I don't mind saying it: I hate Aggy. Least self-confident fanbase in all of CFB. Crippling anxiety a/b their status. As I've said before, UTx really did a number on those guys.

Absent context, is anyone really surprised an Aggie fan wrote this?

With academic reputations as poor as OM and MSU have, one would think the powers that be would try to implement changes to improve their standing not only in the SEC but nationally. It is sad that if you live in Mississippi and want a great education, you have to leave the state.

He's putting aggy in their place

The MS schools have lousy academics, and neither one has a single NCAA title.

You are. Where did I say you aren't?
The problem is when people use something as meaningless as undergraduate degrees as a basis to assume some sort of superiority on their part. Nobody is inherently more intelligent or educated than someone else by virtue of having "Texas A&M University" in their resume. That's my point.
But hey, get your money and pay your taxes, FaWx. You do you and I won't care.

Wow, I just looked, and I'm surprised. Really, I thought A&M would cost more but the two schools are comparable. For some reason I thought the tuition would be similar to Texas'. I think that's great, FWIW. The costs of higher ed are absolutely inflated. Good on A&M for that.

Eh, the NCAA recognizes one of our football National Titles on their website.

Damn it FaWx. Leave it to you to derail an already awful thread and make it worse.

You obviously haven't studied the history of politics in Mississippi. "Making reasonable choices for the benefit of most" isn't exactly commonplace back home.

Not biting.

But because of admission requirements, and who actually went to the school, they can assume that the average Aggie is smarter than the average Black Bear.

I pay too many taxes as it is, but I did pretty well in the stock market this year, and only took my losses. Should be getting a refund for that, and I'll avoid short term capital gains if I'm patient enough to ride it out. I love those greedy bastards on wall street. It's like I got two extra paychecks this year.

If I were a HS senior in the state of MS, and I wanted a degree that carried weight after graduation, there is no way I would consider any in-state school.

As much as I'd love to simply label them as shitty, what can they do in Mississippi? Is there any good public school in a relatively shitty state? To be honest, Auburn and Alabama are probably the top candidates for that award, but Alabama is making some progress so it isn't really true.
