To bring some insight here, since I am an Ole Miss grad that has lived in Texas going back to 1981.
The great reputation of the Aggie degree is actually non-existent in the State of Texas. The Aggies can argue this to make themselves feel good, but this is the truth. I am not saying TAMU is a bad school, just there is no value in that degree. Texas A&M produces too many graduates and they mostly stay here in Texas. Toss a rock you, will hit an alumni. The same can be said for Texas Tech as well. Unless the person graduated with top honors, it truly is the same degree as one from Collin College or UNT in the hiring process.
It is not special if everyone has one.

I need to diversify, I don't know if I have enough cash for that. Maybe an index fund or two. I need to put in my annual contribution to my Roth IRA, and it's all oil and gas at the moment, which I might just want to double down, but I need to look at other long term growth options as well.
Yea this is MT and everything but the market 100% believes in the shale revolution, which means that there is a possibility its already priced into equities. Regardless, diversification is a must.

I don't want to bash Louisiana too much because I like it and it has a lot of cool stuff GA doesn't, but GA is just a better overall state in a lot of ways. Bigger, better incomes, better places to live, more "stuff," much more business, etc. If you're a professional, the opportunities are just far better than in LA.
That's not really bashing Louisiana at all. Baton Rouge and New Orleans are small markets compared to Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. Almost half of the students that graduate from LSU will leave the state after college.
Dick measuring contests aside, if you choose your university based solely on the arbitrary academic rankings that have been discussed in this thread, you might as well just go to Vegas and drop 50 large on black, because you'll wake up in late 20's wondering why you're still working in a bar and paying student loans for the next 20 years. You choose your university based on the degree program you're pursuing. There are some things LSU does that are just as good if not better than any other school in the conference

Some people measure their dicks in inches, others use centimeters.

My dick is 101.6 millimeters

To be entirely fair, it doesn't really matter what school you go to between here and Corpus, you get a petroleum engineering degree and you'll get a job somewhere.

Looks like a lot of people are undervaluing the fact that Ole Miss is a pioneer in medical marijuana research . I think State brings the least to the conference, but that doesn't mean the school is awful by any means

I've always admired Ole Miss for some reason. Now I know why.

Change the medical to recreational and tax it, and watch Mississippi become the new rich kids on the block.
Posted on 12/27/13 at 5:02 pm to Gradual_Stroke
Arkansas will be the next SEC state to pass a medical marijuana act. Damn near did it last election.

As much as this would be genius, Mississippi will be last and if they're not its only because Alabama is more stubborn.
