On par?

Yeah, in the grand scheme 22 all time wins and two conference titles is nitpicking when trying to say who's better. Especially after LSU is coming off a run as one of the better teams in the country for a decade. That decade was an outlier for LSU built on the foundation left by one of tGOAT coaches, not the norm. LSU is falling back into their norm now and things will even out.

Auburn and UGA have also played more games against the top 25 historical programs than any other teams (and it's not close), so LSU should probably be embarrassed that it took a historic decade by them to barely pass us.

Seriously wondering why you would present well-known historical data as revelatory?

One of the dumbest things Les ever ripped off from somebody else and said on National TV. Bama came in the next weekend, like clockwork, at night, and promptly killed their dreams.

LSU has played the fewest games against the other Big 6 so their record is inflated somewhat. LSU's run coincided with Bama going on probation and their last championship was in 07, which is the year Bama came off the 5 year repeater window of probation.

Their run was a great one, but it was unreasonable for their fans to think it could be sustained once Bama came off probation.

There is a natural pecking order and order must always be restored at some point.

This thread is about all-time records. College football didn't start in 2000.

As you are well aware (I'm sure), LSU numbers go up in night games to around .0785.

Bama has put a serious dent in these numbers by themselves.

From what I've been told by some oldtimers, the mystique of Tiger Stadium does not work against Bama because of an agreement the football Gods who rule over Tiger Stadium made with the big man upstairs(God Himself).

As the story goes, God agreed to let these football Gods fill tiger Stadium with a magical energy that would be extremely difficult for any visiting team to overcome with one exception...........

Any fanbase that has a collective IQ under 80 (mildly retarded), would not be affected by this magical energy for the safety of the loved ones and innocent people who may come into contact with such an emotionally fragile and unstable mass of humanity.

This is why, I believe, the numbers in Tiger Stadium are so skewed in the favor of the gumps.

Cute story. I have a good story too, about Louisiana.

When they Louisiana developed is infrastructure back in the 30s under Huey P Long, they had brought in out of state contractors and engineers to do the work. The locals weren't happy and asked Huey why the out of state companies, he said:

"we'll use them to learn how to build his bridges and roads, and then can build and maintain them ourselves."

75 years later, when they created a state gas tax funded multi billion dollar infrastructure, to repair its decaying roads and bridges... They brought in all out of state contractors and engineers.

80 years, and y'all still can't figure out how to build a damn road or bridge by yourself.

First, bowl is right. You adjust for strength of schedule AU is greater than LSU historically. It isn't really debateble.

Second, bamas Bryant Dennys numbers are inflated. Until the late 90's, bama played all of their big games at Legion Field. You have to account for those to be accurate in comparisons here.

Don't forget that "Death Valley" was originally "Deaf Valley"

Clemson was the original

LSU has more of virtually everything noteworthy and leads head to head, but Auburn is a better program due to strength of schedule.

You kids are just beyond adorable.

But I do understand there is no scenario in which Auburn is a better program than LSU, that's what really matters, bud

Interesting stats

Kudos to Auburn for being so high
Tough place to play

Edit: I'm glad Bama moved all their home games to campus because the atmosphere isn't quite the same as off-campus. That was one of the best decisions Bama has ever made besides hiring "The Bear" and Saban.

Gotta include all of Auburns home games at Legion field also since they played many, many home games there as well.
