Do you think Mizzou is athletic as FSU? Theyre not. Auburn runs power football but they wont have enough blockers to contain FSU's speed.

FSU has a much more versatile offense than Oregon and their defense is far better than Oregons.

We will soon find out how good FSU is. The entire country knows how good Auburn is because they have actually played good teams. FSU has played an a very subpar schedule. Ed you talk about FSU and their speed but anyone looks fast next to the likes of Boston College, Duke and the others in the terrible ACC. Bama, LSU & Georgia are as fast or faster than FSU. By the way stats don't me shite unless you play the same teams and then it is still flawed. Again we will see in a short 4 weeks.

Team A:
Passing game: 12-0. 48.6 points per game. Passing game: 4,258 yards. QB coming into the game 35 TDs, 10 INTs and QB passer rating of 178. Rushing 1,900+ Yds. Defense: 16.8 points per game.

Team B:
Runs the option. Rushing: 4,400 yards on the season and only passes for 1700 total yards for 17 TDs and 4 INTs and 156 passer rating.

Predictions for this 1 vs 2 national championship game? Team A will put 9 men on the line of scrimmage, no chance to run.

Corso says Team A.

End result: Team B wins 62-24.

Don’t over analyze games that are played a month after the teams last game.

But if you want to troll a month out, have at it.

FWIW: FSU 53 points per game. QB 4,186 yards, 40 TDs and 13 INTs with a passer rating of 178.28.
Rushing 2,696. Defense allows only 10.7 points per game.

AUB 40.2 points per game. Total passing 2,205 yards. QB 12 TDs and 5 INTs with a rating 144. Rushing 4,364 yards. Defense 24.0 points per game.

Personally, I think the time off for the 2010 Auburn and 2010 Oregon team hurt them a lot. Cam was off that night compared to normal Cam. Oregon was off for a while until the end.

If I have a passing team I don't want that kind of time off. If the game was played 2 weeks after the first then I think passing offenses would be okay, but not 30-40 days later.

It becomes a battle of the trenches and will.

And I am so so so glad FSU is a 8.5 point favorite. I'd be more nervous if Auburn was a 8.5 point favorite.

How much more athletic is FSU's defense than Bama's ?

In the OPs mind, now that Auburn is in the game, FSU's D-line stand about 7' tall and run the 40 in 4 seconds flat and by next week they're 10' tall and run the 40 in 3 seconds and weigh 400 lbs each. The DBs will continue to grow from where they are today to 10' tall and 300 lbs and run the 40 in 2 seconds as we progress towards January 6th.

FSU cannot be beat. No way. Now if Bama had been put in the game, their D-line would continue to stand their current height which is the same as Bama's nickle D lineman and about 20 lbs heavier on average.

And if it was Bama they'd point out FSU hasn't played very good rushing teams in reverse order starting with duke the 62nd rushing offense, 87th, 95th, 39th, 117th, 64th, 71st, 61st, 88th, 20th (Boston College who rushed 200 near their 218 average), 52nd and 113th.

Which would be a problem because Bama is the 21st best rushing offense. But against the #1 rushing offense in CFB, Auburn, no problem. They'll hold them to under 100.
