Points can change due to turnover, field position, tempo of play, etc. Yards are a FAR better indicator of a defense.

And to answer your question, Alabama is a very athletic D but they don't have near the speed of FSU.

Only Alabamas defense is nearly as athletic as FSU. But their 3-4 scheme doesn't completely utilize their athleticism.

Bama run D before Auburn: 96 per game
Auburn ran for 296.

Mizzou run D before Auburn: 116 per game.
Auburn ran for 545.

FSU run D before Auburn: 117 per game.

No you don't, you want everyone to agree with you and point out how smart you are. Neither is going to happen so go DIAF.

Ok beer bryant.

So I understand you, yards are a better determining factor as to the outcome of a game than points are?

No, yards are affected by far less variables than points. You can only get yards by gaining yards obviously, points can be gained a few ways.

But Winston did that against the defensive juggernauts of the ACC so not a fair comparison.

Yards are independent of the 'variables' you pointed out for points?

So turnovers don't effect yards?

Let me ask you this, at the end of the day, would you rather have more points than an opponent or more yards than an opponent?

The SEC defenses aren't nearly as good as past years in case you didn't notice.

Yards per play isn't affected by turnovers.

yards per game is.

But is it only per play that matters now?

Nope, I confused the argument. I can admit my fault.

If you need to use rehtoric as a throw away line, then I'm guessing you're not very far ahead of where you think an auburn education leaves you.

I'd still be interested to know if you'd rather have more yards than your opponent or more points at the end of the game.

We've missed you by the way. Can you post the arky/auburn stats for old times sake?
