Everyone knows what the problem is. It just doesn't seem that those in charge are willing to do anything about it.
Some coaches just don't have all the attributes necessary be successful at a big time SEC school. Sumlin is one of those. He never should have been hired at A&M in the first place. Didn't have enough skins on the wall to get that gig!

Texas Aggies remind me of Iowa and Georgia. So much potential yet so much disappointment every year. Aggies should be better than what they are. If they can find the 90s version of themselves, they could be a championship caliber program.

And you know what, he got fired.
I get the OP's point, if he isn't trolling. A&M should be building into a powerhouse. That program historically should have a defense as good as any, which at one time was understood as a key for a title run (and which Alabama illustrates to be true annually). They should have the resources to climb the SEC ladder higher than they have.
I get that the Texas 7 on 7-style wide open offense is fun, but it isn't working as a whole for the program. Y'all need a reboot.
