So, your grandparents got invited to picnics by Lee's ancestors, who were also their ancestors, but chose not to go because they didn't like the skin color of the people offering the invitations?
Wow, they were pretty hateful people, I guess. For some ignorant types, skin color is all that matters. Sorry your grandparents were bigot
Let me cure that ignorance for you, please.
My Great Grandmother was a Lee, who was a quarter black and barely recognized by her relatives. My Paw Paw's(her son) Lee cousins would not acknowledge in public that they had black relatives. Through Jim Crow, segregation, and all the shite black people had to deal with then, not a word. My Family's white relatives would come to them only when they needed something, or acknowledge their existence in private. Then my paw paw, who had to grow up with all this shite as a black man in East TX(which I assure you is about as deep south as you can get if you've never been) gets an invitation from these folks who shunned their existence his whole life. And you think he's supposed to show up, smile and pretend all this never happened?
Seriously, what the f'ck is wrong with you, man?

No, then it's just a regular. What kind of Coke, a regular.

In other words, the mostly white side of the family had grown, intellectually and culturally and were changing with the times but, the black side of the family held grudges like petulant bitches?

Lmao! Yeah, if that's how you want to look at it, knock yourself out. Or, it takes more than one post card to erase 70 years of pretending like your relatives don't exist.
I really hope you're trolling, cause it's hard for me to believe you're this ignorant.

so apparently we're cousins. lol. And you're right, there really aren't that many Lee family descendants, relatively speaking. I've done quite a bit of geneology research.

Oh, for God's sake, you are under the false impression that everyone on Earth has always been as delicate and precious as modern day men and women are.
If the black side of the family had wanted to attend the picnics they were invited to, in good faith, they could have managed to overlook a situation that was no different than any other back then.
Let me tell you what was different and unusual, a white family in the South or the North or anywhere inviting blacks to a picnic.
So, you know, if they couldn't live and let live and let bygones be bygones, fricking good for them. They proved something, I guess, it's just it's hard to figure out what.
That really helped everyone.

You know it's odd that there aren't that many since the family was initially large enough and had been in the US more than long enough to support a lot more but there aren't. Weird, imo.
And hear's to my cuz.

I remember back when Bush was running for office they showed a clip of him speaking in St. Louis saying Missouri then they showed a clip of him speaking in Springfield Mo the same day saying Missourah.

and you are under the impression that my grandfather's cousins who were either in the Klan or could have spoken for my family didn't allow them to terrorize and kill his father's workers, steal thousands of dollars worth of cattle, try to steal his land, and do whatever they could to put him out of business because they didn't think a black man should be wealthier than them.
F'ck off, I'm done with your dumb arse. Go read a book.

Yeah, well I do know that many of them ended up in Louisiana, which was where my branch stopped off before coming to East TX. There are several in Shreveport, which was where my Great grandmother was born. Several of them are judges and prominent society members.
