Truthfully and this is no troll (well there's a slight harmless joke thrown in but it's not meant to be cruel or to rustle):

The moment you joined. Vandy's old blood SEC, after all and there's no doubting they're SEC. ;-) However, they've paid their dues and the Zou hasn't - that's the real difference. Yes, you've done well on the field, even won the East, no denying that. You've been more than respectable and a good addition, imo. But some of your fans (not all) try too hard and that's where tRant has found your weakness and trolled you HARD because truth is - it upsets you too much and it makes y'all way too easy of a target to rustle (again this doesn't apply to all).

Also, you're gonna have to be here for a while before people associate Mizzou w/the SEC. Much of that has to do with geography and newness. But once the newness wears off and you've been here for a while no one will blink. Others went through the same even Arky and SC but they joined pre-internet so fans just kinda forgot they were SEC until gameday rolled around. Hell, I still miss playing Auburn yearly and I'm not old.

IOW, relax and let the newness fade. You're SEC already but the insecurity of some makes you a tRant target. FWIW, you're not treated so rough on other boards.

Well you'd be in good blue-blood company - East, Tennesseans already burned Atlanta during the Civil War. Fo' real. We were the ones who accompanied Sherman on his March but hey, we did spare Savannah - it's gorgeous after all. In terms of the Civil War, y'all were far more confederate than us - we tried to secede from the secession (multiple times!), had the first paper dedicated to Abolition in the entire country (including up North), engaged in guerilla warfare against rebel occupiers, and voted 80+ percent to remain Union.

We were also considered the freest soil in the Union to speak openly about abolition AND were reviled for socializing with black folks too much. UT's president was a Union sympathizer during the war and many E. Tennesseans crossed into Ky just so we could join the Union Army despite the fact the rebels were on watch and had orders to shoot ANYONE headed toward Ky to be shot on sight.

And that's just the highlights.

Education my man. N. Alabama, N. Georgia and several other Southern outposts did this as well although their Unionism wasn't as strong and far smaller. And you're goddamn right I'm proud of being on the moral side of a war fought over slavery and wealth - your precious rebels treated also E. TN like dogs and did the same to us.

And to blow your mind further, these good men who fought against oppression of human beings, were to a man republicans. In fact, we've been republican longer than ANY spot in the US (comes from our Whig days).
