I do, but Im 30 years old, and I never EVER remember LSU and Ole Miss having a heated rivalry in the 90's at all, however State and Ole Miss had fights in pregame and the Brewer/Sherill confrontation, etc....

Thats because the 90s is when Ole Miss was really bad and State was as good as it ever will be. The Rivalry was actually competitive in the 90s and Ole Miss wasn't expected to win it every time like it has before or since.

Explain this Ole Miss fans? IF State and Ole Miss aren't RIVALS, why then did both schools fire their respective head coaches due to lack of performance in the Egg Bowl?

Orgeron didnt get fired for losing to LSU, but he did get Fired to Losing to State

And Croom didnt get fired for losing to Bama, LSU, or Auburn, but to Losing to OLE MISS.

I may be different but this trophy matters to me, and matters a LOT to everyone who lives in the state of Mississippi who pulls for either State or Ole Miss.

With no in state rival; I have cosidered OM, Fla, Bama, and Auburn to all be rivalry games. I hate all of them. If I had to rank them it would be #1 Bama, #2 Auburn #3 Florida and OM tied. I know Arkansas is supposed to be our rival but I never felt that way. Even after they beat us in big games.

We did have December 5th circled.... but that didn't turn out so well.

You're 4-5, and one of those victories was against Jackson fricking State. You're letting that crocodile mouth overload that jaybird arse.

I know one play isn't usually enough to warrant firing a coach, but his play call to go for it on fourth down late in the game when it was pretty much over sealed it for him. That showed exactly how much of a mistake it was for Orgeron to be a head coach. Did't matter if we were playing MSU or Arkansas State. It just happened to occur during our last game and it was the last straw IMO

And one of our games is against our "in state" rival(MSU), and another is against what most Ole Miss fans consider our real rival(LSU)

Yeah... Not really... He got fired for losing to all 8 conference foes he faced...

I guess practically GIVING Croom his signature win in the end may have had something to do with it. Ole Miss leading 14-0 with 10 minutes left and grasping defeat from the jaw of victory.

But he say O got fired for losing to State is like saying a company went bankrupt because of that last $50 order from Staples.

Whoever said we weren't rivals? I look at LSU as the bigger game, but that doesn't mean that I don't think yall aren't one of our rivals.

He got fired because he didn't win a single SEC game. Yall were only part of the problem, although the most apparent.

Like Orgeron, it was a combination. And you can't blame every firing of an Ole Miss or MSU coach on the Egg Bowl since that is the last game of every year, and if a coach is going to be fired chances are its going to be after the last game you clown.

Yes, we've seen yall's locker room and we know how much every Egg Bowl Trophy means to yall. No one at Ole Miss gives a flying frick about the Trophy itself. The only trophies we care about are Bowl Trophies (as in real bowls), but since yall are fairly unfamiliar with these trophies, since yall have only been in 13 and won a little over 1/2, we understand why yall want to fill up your trophy room with your victories over us.

Ole Miss won't lose to Mississippi State.

Book it.

The only teams that will beat Ole Miss this year are teams that can rush the passer. State won't be able to.

Orgeron got fired because it is the worst coaching job I have ever witnessed. We had a 14 point lead with 10 min left in the game and Orgeron decided to attempt to have a throwing game. That is coaching 101. Run the ball eat up clock if you have a lead going into the 4th quarter. Also we had ran the ball on you all game, why stop what works. Orgeron got fired for shitty coaching during that game, and because it was the last game of the season. It's stupid to fire coaches mid season.

And you know this how? I'm pretty sure most Ole Miss fans were going to book rooms in Atlanta this year too.

It has already been posted that one of your 4 wins was against Jackson St. and another against Middle Tenn. St. I know we havent set the world on fire but I wouldn't bet on MSU beating Ole Miss. I guess it could possibly happen, but wouldn't mark it down just yet

You do know that we lost to Auburn mostly due to a 5 minute interval in the 3rd Quarter, and yall got beat by them worse than we did.

And we like teams that are cocky as frick against us. It was hilarious after the Arkansas game to see all those fans leave. It is particularly hilarious to hear Mississippi State fans getting cocky about beating us.
