If Saban got in and controlled Texas it would almost be unfair.

Plain and simple. If Texas wants him, they will give him ehat it takes, and he will leave. The man has no allegiance to any school. It is known in certain tight circles that he much preferred life in Baton Rouge to life in Tusculoosa. Believe it or not, that is a fact. I am not a fan of Saban's. Quite the opposite. I know too much. Didn't like him while at LSU. Bottom line is that Saban could easily leave bama at any time. I don't see him taking another crack at the pros. Texas would make sense. And they would and could pay him enough to make him leave. If that does happen, watch the frock out. Whomever used the term "rape train" may have understated it. The money behind the program. The alumni base. Avid fan base. Longhorn Network. Texas recruiting. Easy schedule to get thru every year(which is a massive advantage-one that in many opinions has given bama the edge over LSU since Saban hire). Would be scary. Bama has had a lot of success these last 4 years. However, bama was one last minute miracle screen to Yeldon and a mulligan away from only having one title and LSU having 2(safe assumption). Saban did great things for LSU's program in building it up. I don't agree with things he does to achieve them. Back to the point. Don't think for one minute that Saban would not bail if Texas made him the right offer. If they do...he gone

Saban is going to Texas at some point. First, bama doesn't want to get into a money war with Texas....they'll lose. Second, the ego of Saban winning another NC at yet another school will be a big factor in his decision. Third, the SEC haters will do whatever they can to move Saban to another conference.

Welcome to 2008.

Nick Saban would be a boost to TU. But,I seriously doubt Nick Saban would leave Alabama and the SEC to play TCU and Kansas State every week. This is a TU fan's fantasy.

He wouldn't be able to recruit any better at Texas than he has at Alabama, simply because it's just not possible. Would he have more prospects within a 3 hour drive? Yes. He's pulled in a top 3 class every year at Alabama and the best class in recruiting site history on paper last year. His '08 class produced 5 first rounders. His '09 class produced 5 first rounders. It's hard to top that.

Basically Nick Saban would turn Texas into Alabama, not the '85 bears

Fellas, at this point Saban doesn't care about money. He has plenty.

But, at what point do you build a program up and then consider doing it somewhere else. He's done it at LSU and Bama.

He could do it again if he choses to.

Deductive reasoning either tells me that they don't want him or you're a dumbass then, doesn't it?

He would have no competition in the Big12. He would be in the title game every year. He would not turn Texas into Alabama. He would turn Texas into a power house in a conference with no competition. He would be unstoppable.

Exactly!!

There are many more reasons for Saban to move on from Alabama to Texas than for him to stay there. The gumps need to realize that Saban isn't in love with Bama any more than he was in love with LSU. Though I'd say that he liked LSU better and would have loved to return there over Bama.

Anyway, there's a very good chance that the next head coach of Texas will be Saban, like it or not.

Yeah, none of this Internet pop-psychology has answered the burning question:

If Texas wants him (and he wants Texas/the challenge/the burning hunger/the city/etc/etc/etc), then why hasn't he left yet?

Weren't we hearing Saban to Texas rumors... OK they were more speculation than even rumors, sort of like now... back in like 2010?

Mack has been shitting all over the field and himself, literally, ever since Marcell Dareus sent Colt McCoy packing. Why hasn't Saban left yet?

Clearly you lack the intelligence to realize that there are more than just two moving parts. Would you say that Texas is a loyal program? If not you are a fool. They should have cut Mack loose already but haven't. It isn't merely a decision if what coach to go after(Saban or other). You are making the assumption that Texas is willing to fire Mack right now if they could get Saban. Choke on your ill timed deductive reasoning backward logic. It doesn't apply here. But hey, it's a message board and the SEC Rant at that, so feel free to fire off whatever garbage you want. You, sir, are a cantaloupe.

I don't think he will leave. He'll retire before he leaves.

But the answer to the ultimate hypothetical is that if he was at Texas he would be unstoppable. He would have the best teams he would ever have against almost zero competition.

He's won 3 titles in 4 years at Alabama.

What's underestimated is the jimmies and the joes. He can recruit the best athletes in the country to Texas, but this is still the SEC, and the best athletes in the country are still going to come here and play against the rest of the best athletes in the country.

While a Saban led Texas would breeze into the NC game every year, the Alabama's, Florida's, and lsu's of the world will still fight and claw their way into the other spot. A talented battle hardened team will usually whip a talented team that has never been challenged.

Unstoppable is just an inaccurate term, he's fielding better teams at Alabama than he could ever dream about fielding at Texas simply because these teams are battle tested against the best every year, and Texas plays in a candy arse league.

This is all for naught though, Nick Saban is going to retire at alabama and then go watch ducks shite on his lawn at lake burton and count his money.

Of which there are how many left? This is horseshite and you know it. If Texas legitimately thought they could have ejected Brown and gotten Saban, they would have done it by now.

Again, why have none of the Saban to _______ rumors come true yet?

I don't what else to say? Like most on here have agreed, it would be unfair if he was at Texas. He would have an even larger imprint on the college football world at Texas.

But like I said earlier, this is all for nothing. Dude is not leaving Alabama. He will almost certainly retire before he leaves.
