Freeze would have to let him go. He already has a PR situation on his hands with Nkemdiche, the NCAA, and some current players he has gambled on. State can probably tolerate the risk for a player like Simmons and I bet they do keep him. You can drop the morality bullshite, it's a simple risk vs reward assessment like in any other business.
