Redstone Arsenal + Research Park = Good government $$$$ that isn't as affected by economic climate compared to a lot of places.

Well everyone knows "Birmingham" collectively applied to the entire metro is arguable. One of the unusual things I've noticed living here. Seems the OTM city residents (including myself- MB) have no problem using Bham and / or suburb as address. Despite city's history. I for one think that's cool.

Inside the city limits its possible.

Huntsville: 190,000
Birmingham: 212,000

But you know you're leaving something out.

Huntsville metro: 435,000
Birmingham metro: 1,150,000

Let's be real, Birmingham will always be superior.

Maybe, but Birmingham will always have the larger metro.

Is there an area of Birmingham that isn't in Alabama?
That's where I would stay.

Not really. Quality of life, safety of neighborhoods, tech-related jobs - I'd put Huntsville leagues ahead of Birmingham. There is no question, Huntsville is better if you have the creds to work there.

I don't like Little Rock much either. But, at least it's in Arkansas.

You wanna know what state really sucks? Texas. Shittiest place I've ever been. I think if your family has lived in West Texas for more than a couple generations, you have most likely adapted to a diet of dirt, your nose has grown accustomed to the smell of cowshit, and your cock has shrunk to half the size of a normal man's. That's why everyone walks around with their chest bowed out all the time.

Agreed. And I'm a Texan born and raised. Most of the state is marginal except Hill Country IMO.

It's usually the older men. It comes from a lifetime of hard work.

I wouldn't expect someone from Alabama to understand anything about that.

Spoken like someone who's opinion of Birmingham is outdated by at least a decade

You have me there. I saw Van Halen at the BJCC in 1984. I saw Pink Floyd (Sans Waters) in 1994. The area around BJCC was a ghetto.

Gonna correct myself here. I saw Pink Floyd at Legion Field, not the BJCC. The area around there sure seemed ghetto to me.
