I'm not equating the chant to any of those things. I'm just trying to figure out how a fan base as ethically and morally superior as LSU's could possibly find it appropriate to yell such profanities for women and children to hear.

I've always been told that title belonged to Ole Miss fans

You aren't equating them because they aren't equal--not even close. That's why you argument is laughable. So, I'll put the question directly to you. Why do you think fans of your team are so out of the mainstream with other SEC fans such that they do terrible, unspeakable things that can't be equated with the types of things other fans do?

Being cornholed by authority figures has a lot to do with it.

I already answered on page one but here you go....
"Alabama set the benchmark for college football in the South. People gravitate towards that type of success. Unfortunately, that includes the crazies."

Just about every bama fan I've met has very little to no sense of humor. Football is super serious, nay, bama football is life.
Every time I've gone to Tuscaloosa I see super serious fans who want to fight anyone who they think disrespects bama. They also like to throw drinks. That's like a bammer fan calling card it seems like. Georgia likes to throw shite too.

I think that's probably the problem. Alabama fans honestly think that their fans doing the worst things in college football is a direct result of how successful and awesome Alabama is.

I'm not from Alabama I'm from Philly. So I know exactly what I'm talking about. I've got family up north and down south.

Actually it should read "Alabama fans honestly think that their fans doing the worst things in college football is a direct result of how successful and awesome the fans that are guilty of doing those things think the Alabama is."

. Got accepted into grad school at bama my senior year, so I wore a Bama shirt to class one day. One of my profs, an Auburn grad, told me at the door not to come in. I thought he was kidding, so I went and sat down. In front of the whole class, he came over and asked if I thought he was joking, told me to never come to class again with with those colors on.
Did you tell that stupid fricker that your tuition money pays his salary?

I think it's their degree of success. I mean no other fanbase in the modern era has been subjected to such a ridiculous amount of success in such a short time and it's created monsters.

All the batteries, piss balloons, and other objects thrown by LSU fans make em mad.

Philadelphia Eagles or Okland Raiders football game some time... some of those psychopaths make our worst fans look like the Vienna Boys choir.
There is an active courtroom in the stadium on gameday in Philly.
Bama is popular. Popular teams like Lakers, yankees, etc attract a lot of punks and losers.
Their alumni are similar to others except teabagger.

no LSU fan can point at another fan base and say they are classless enough to have a chant like STTDB.
I point to the University of Wisconsin. Done.
Whether it's a fan who throws a brick through the coach's window, a fan (RIP) who gets a DUI after welcoming Saban to Alabama, or a doctor who destroys a big screen tv in a restaurant, a certain type of person seems to become a fan of Alabama football more than any other team. No other team comes close. Like someone mentioned, Alabama football is all many of these people have. Imagine if everything you truly valued and defined who you are (family, job, degrees, religion, etc.) were all taken away in a few minutes. That's how the dysfunctional Alabama fan feels when the team loses.

It is a matter of success and proportion. The Yankees have been more successful than any other major league team, and as a consequence they have more followers. There are more crazy Yankee fans than, say, Washington Nationals fans, because there are more Yankee fans. More followers translates into a greater proportion of crazed people who have, for whatever reason, decided that their life is steered by the success or failure of a football team.

I'm still hoping to meet a well adjusted Auburn fan. Maybe one day.
