Yeah, no. They could care less about LSU athletics in any form. Maybe (maybe) the Saints.
No Southern college foobtall base rises to the level of cult-like attraction like Bama. None.

Growing up around Bham, I can say 100% that it's the brainwashing from the obnoxious, hater parents.

Lets see. That's four people you mentioned. Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal.

poverty + success + no other sports in the state

only reason LA has any pro sports is because of NOLA
rest of the state is even worse than the rest of the south, you don't even have proper road funding.
also never seen so many poors in one place as I did in west monroe.

As much as I'd like to disagree with many of the remarks here, I can't. We do have some lunatic fans who take things way to far... Hell in the grand scheme of things, it is just a game. But the same thing can be said about many other fan bases as well. Not just in Alabama. If you don't believe me, go to a Philadelphia Eagles or Okland Raiders football game some time... some of those psychopaths make our worst fans look like the Vienna Boys choir.
Unfortunately the amount of success that Alabama has had as of late, gives opposing fanbases ammunition for jealousy and a reason to ridicule Bama fans as a whole.

Considering all the shite they talk on this site I've found them to be quite docile in person at the games.Unless of course you're alone and passed ou t drunk.

Alabama has hundreds of thousands of fans, and you remember 4 that did something stupid. That's not too bad imho.

Bama has nothing on Auburn when it comes to haters.

it's really not. no southern state is worse than MS, whether you choose obesity, education, poverty, etc. i'm not even from LA, so i don't really care

ever been to Atlanta, or pretty much any big southern city? they're everywhere
honestly, the southeast united states are all bad in their own way. alabama fans are crazier because their illiterate impoverished rednecks happen to live in a state with a football team than wins more, and have for longer, than the other states. it's really not rocket science. when you put a football program like alabama in an area of the country with a lot these types of people, crazy will follow. if ole miss had the success historically that alabama has, it would be the same.

I can attest to this. Got accepted into grad school at bama my senior year, so I wore a Bama shirt to class one day. One of my profs, an Auburn grad, told me at the door not to come in. I thought he was kidding, so I went and sat down. In front of the whole class, he came over and asked if I thought he was joking, told me to never come to class again with with those colors on.

Bama fans can ignore it all they want, their fans do the most publicly stupid and destructive things. They are so bad, second would likely be a tie amongst many amateurs. The idea that one can find ONLY four is asinine.

Please there are the people that defaced LSU's campus, the woman who killed another because she wasn't sufficiently angry that the Tide lost (she wasn't happy, mind you, just not sufficiently upset).

I enjoy your attempt to minimize it, but it is really quite something.

These are just dozens of people. I'm not sure you can draw any conclusions based on this stuff.

Seriously, can you imagine an LSU fan with a CLM tat?
Neither can I.
